Ah hiya!
Yes, it's been quite a while. I'm doing alright, I guess. I'm working hard towards graduation, which is now just a few months away. Gosh it'll be good to be done with this.
As for what I've been up to, it's been mostly school and percussion. I'm doing very well at it, though it takes up nearly all my time these days.
And what about you? I haven't heard from you for so long? Did you end up going to Spain? Are you still working at HMV? Have you found out what you're going to study?
Øyvind

hello sweetie!¨)
i know it has been soooo long! I apologise for that.
Well i am currently in Valencia! Whoohoo! Im only here for 8 days as a 'trial run' to see how id cope. I have to say i absolutely love it here and apart from being slightly shy about speaking Spanish i think i would manage well.(even though im taking forever to type on this strange Spanish keyboard!)
Apart from being here for a trial run, Spain´s biggest festival(Las Fallas) is taking place. We went to watch the fireworks at 2pm today. They were unbelievable! I have never heard such a noise!
my mother was asking after you to see how you were doing so i´ll be pleased to tell her you are positive and working hard in the run up to graduation.¨
ah... no i no longer work for HMV. I walked out mid-shift in the middle of the day just before New Year. That is how bad it was. I don´t know if i told you all the drama surrounding that? How i ended up with a semi-stalker?!
anywayz... has Russ taken place yet?
How is Kristian?

Hiya!
It's alright, you've probably been busy.
Anyhoo, that would mean you're back home by now, so I hope you had a great time. If you were enjoying yourself in Valencia, then I'm sure that means you've 'coped', and you'll prolly get to come back there for a longer period of time.
Hehe, you may indeed tell her that.
No, you haven't? Anyhoo, I'm guessing that means you didn't like it there.
Russ hasn't happened yet, no. It starts in april, methinks.
Kristian is fine, I should think. He's on easter hols with his family, while I'm here at The Gathering (as usual).
Anyhoo, the showers will open soon, so I'm going to go and grab one.
Spk. soon

Hiya!
It took a while for me to answer this time. I'm sorry about that.
Well, the senior celebration is finally over, yes. It was quite fun, though I didn't do too many crazy things.
Congratulations on getting into uni. This might seem a way too simple question, but... What are you going to study for, then?
The gathering was fun, as always. I've installed linux now, so I'm having fun with learning that. Also, I'm in the middle of my exams. I'll have my percussion exam on tuesday *shudders*. I'm guessing it will be fine. Music history is on friday, so we have a preparation day tomorrow. I have written my last paper in 'new-norwegian', thankfully. I can't wait to be done with this.
Anyhoo, I'd better get going.

Tiara.Kitten*Valentine Cat* Posted Jun 6, 2005
hello.
oh don't worry about it.
what am i going to be studying? Well i'd love to know! What's happened is i have been accepted into the faculty of arts and social sciences but i haven't chosen my subjects yet. I have to study 5 in year 1 after which i drop 3. I haven't officially confirmed my choices so it could be a bizarre line-up such as Spanish, French, Psychology, Politics and Philosophy.
aaaah... well im sitting here debating over whether or not i should go to a gig tomorrow night. It's a Norwegian band actually called Jaga Jazzist. A local band whom i absolutely adore are supporting(The Fusion Experience). Hmmmm...
so what crazy things DID you do at Russ?
good luck with your exams... just remember it'll be great once they're over.

Hiya!
Thanks.
Ah, languages and philosophy for you. Sounds like loads of fun! I particularly enjoy philosophy, but I guess that's an individual thing.
I'd recommend Jaga Jazzist rather heartily, yes. It's weird music, but really good stuff, in my opinion. I've never gotten to see them live, unfortunately, but they're said to do good gigs.
We sat under our desks for one lesson, bit a first-grader's leg (not hard, mind you), abducted a second-grader (not far, but it counts as abduction). I can't remember the other things, but they were similar.
Thanks. I'm done with all my written ones now, I only have main instrument and some oral examination left. I made a five in percussion, so I'm hoping to make that tomorrow, too. I'm going to have fun, either way.

Tiara.Kitten*Valentine Cat* Posted Jun 27, 2005
hi!
yeah i don't know... im not really keen on standing up in front of a class and philosophising...(if there is such a word). Which is weird considering i study languages... hmmmmm....;0
btw how is your driving coming on? I haven't mentioned it for ages. I finally have my licence. I just did some research on the net here and discovered the test centre i went to had a really low pass rate! I wish i had known that before!lol Anyway it's all done now. Yaay.
aaaargh i didn't go to see Jaga Jazzist. I plumped for the Glasgow Jazz Festival instead. Twas good. They had this lovely Edwardian style tent on a corner of George's Square where the bands played. It was especially great because i haven't got tickets for any of the main rock festivals this year.
hee hee debauchery indeed! So you're trying to tell me Kristian didn't do anything crazier than biting someone's leg... i find that hard to believe... hehe
aaaa gotta go!

Hiya!
Gee, it's been way too long. I'm terribly sorry, there's just been so much going on in my life.
Well, I hope the philosophy is going well by now. I'm sure it's extremely fun, and rather thought-provoking, too, eh? As for standing in front of a class, that's just one of those things you have to get used to. It's a good way of practcing, and since it's just your class, it's pretty harmless compared to a lot of other situations, eh?
Congratulations on your license! You've had it for a while now, of course, but still. My driving hasn't been practiced at all for now. I can't afford to get a license now anyways, but it's still rather sad that I haven't done anything about it. I won't need it for a while, though. I'm working in Oslo (doing the required year of civil service), and I can get anywhere in town for free, and in only fifteen minutes, too.
As for the low pass rate, that's brilliant of you. I think it's good you didn't know before, or you'd have been nervous when you took the tests.
No rock festivals? That sucks. I'm going to go see Dweezil Zappa perform this autumn, it'll be way cool.
Kristian was very sedate. I got the bottle cap from a water bottle for not drinking throughout the celebration. We were a bit boring, but we were also very tired of school at that point.
As for other things I've been up to this summer, I've been in the US for three weeks visiting friends, and I've also been a week in the mountains fishing. It's been a busy summer, but a very nice one. Have you done anything this summer?
Øyvind

Tiara.Kitten*Valentine Cat* Posted Sep 28, 2005
hello!
ah don't worry about it, i've been busy too. I'm currently trying to find my way round Strathclyde University. I obviously have found the library though!
Uni seems fine but the main annoyance is how the lectures are so split up throughout my timetable. I mean i haven't been in a class since 11am this morning and im currently waiting for 2pm to arrive so I can go to my next class. It's a bit of a drag to be honest. Though it's not quite as shocking as the fact that a Marketing book which i have to buy costs £41!:0 Plus being in a class with about 400 other students takes some getting used to.
Oh im not studying philosophy. I opted for French, Spanish, Marketing, History and Psychology instead. It's only my 2nd day and i've already had a Spanish test!lol
ooooh so how is the civil service going? Getting around completely free? Sounds ike a pretty nice perk! So is Kristian currently doing the same?
nah i didn't go to any festivals this year. Well apart from the Glasgow Jazz Festival but as nice as that was it was rather tame.
Dweezil Zappa? Oh that's cool! So is his sister Moon Unit a musician too then?
hmmmm nah i haven't really been anywhere exciting since Valencia. Although what is exciting is im finally getting a computer! We're getting Broadband installed this Monday and my laptop arrives on Wednesday! Woooooo
Bon Voyage!
i don't know why i felt like saying that since it doesn't fit the context... and my next class is Spanish not French.
spk soon!

Hi!
Alright, then. I'm sure you'll learn to navigate it quite well in due time. The library is key, of course. University libraries are often good, too.
Ah, yes, that's pretty normal. I guess if you were living close to uni you could go home and eat and that sort of thing, but since you don't... Well, you could always read in the library, I'm sure you'll have loads of studies to do soon. 400 students??? Wow, that's a huge class. I hope they don't all talk during lessons. I'm getting one on one lessons in mathematics, which is so much nicer than being in a class with thirty or so people.
The service is going great. It's challenging and interesting, a bit scary at times, but it's fun a lot of the time. It's also relatively relaxed, I only work four days a week, and yes, I do get around completely for free. Kristian is at a school called Nansenskolen. It's basically a college of sorts, people mostly come there to have a year without the normal schooling. Nansenskolen specializes in philosophy, if I'm not mistaken, so he'll be among equals there, I'm sure.
Oh, well, that's sad, of course. I like jazz, but it's not the same as rock festivals, admittedly. It's been moved to May 18th, so it'll be a long while before I can go see him, sadly. As for Moon, I don't really know. I've heard her talk on "Valley Girl", but that's about all I know about her. Could be worth finding out, certainly.
Yay for computers! So that means you're online at home by now, then. Congratulations. Maybe I'll see you more on hootoo, then.
Why, thank you. It fits rather well, since I'm going on a trip with some kids from work tomorrow. It's their holiday, and my job is to have fun with them. We're doing rafting and bridge jumping, among others. I'm thinking it'll be great fun.
Spk. soon

Hi!
Yeah i've got far better at finding my way around already. I've found that you can go to almost any building to use computers and i've found a rather nice, quiet computer lab which im in just now. Im waiting for 1pm when im due in an I.T class. I've been told it's really boring for the first few lessons which wouldn't be so bad if it were hourly lessons but it's 2 hours long!
Plus it was written on the timetable this morning that i was to be in French for 9am but when i arrived i was told it's been moved to 9am tomorrow. I could have had an extra hours sleep which is pretty important to me right now considering i've been working shifts in a bar.
anywayz... ooooh another reason im more than keen to get this I.T class out the way is that my laptop might arrive today... ooooh! I'll be so fed up if it doesn't arrive...
rafting and bridge jumping? God i need some of that.lol It gets a bit boring sitting in classes all day after a while. Not that im really complaining. It's been much better than my year of working in dull jobs with little pay.Speaking of jobs you'd hate the bar i work in. After about half an hour your eyes start smarting like crazy from all the smoke. Plus of course you leave smelling like a cigarette and covered in beer.Fun...:0
rightoes best be off... to possibly the dullest class on my otherwise cool timetable.

hehe the people in the 400+ class don't talk during lectures but they do cough! It's hysterical and seems to be contagious too.
