Hi Ra,
Don't apologise - I love sending invoices to my clients - but I love the cheques you getin return even better - that's why we work isn't it?

Hi

Hi Ra,
I really enjoyed going to work and still do a few little jobs from home to keep some jam on the bread and butter.
I also got an evening class to reach one night a week starting again at the end of the month!
What happened to the witch Serephina? Dark nights keeping her busy with a black cat and a broomstick?

Hi

I haven't spoken to Seraphina for a while
I hope she was reasonably careful with spells.. you never know with
and
I'm working most of the time but not on a very regular basis.. sometimes working all week for some time, sometimes not at all.. as long as it pays the bills

Hi
I'm in the middle of a job - doing a design for a housing layout - but been waiting for information for over a week now so cannot get on with it.
Why does Local Government not recognise the pressures of the commercial world?
Perhaps Seraphina could help by putting a spell on them????

Probably doesn't make you feel any better but it's not just local government... it's all types of government
including national, continental, ... whatever.. the burocracy and pettiness, corruption and stupidity are sometimes to

Hi

Sorry to keep you waiting for a reply - I've just been to Paris for 4 days looking at the sights.
Probably my last time away from home until Spring.
My first time dealing in Euros - and hopefully my last - let's keep the good old Quid !!!
Didn't really like losing shillings and sixpences - in fact I can remember being able to spend a farthing in my childhood !!!!!
I suppose we complained when we stopped using the groat ?
Cheers Jazz

Hi Jazz, I'm not a frequent h2g2 user.. I can be out for ... weeks?
Talk about Euros.. =>
=>
=>
the Dutch guilder had an exchange rate 2.2 guilders to the Euro. Now after almost two years most shops (but certainly all bars, restaurants, theatres) charge the old guilder price in euros. That effectively doubles prices - in two years time. Unfortunately the income hasn't doubled (taxes nearly have though).
to UK, Denmark and a lot of others!

Hi
I read in the paper the other day that the French wants the franc back and Germans want the mark back. It looks as if the people are seeing more sense than their leaders.
I'm more worried about the constituion and HIS refusal to let us have a vote on it - guess there would be a big big NO !
Jazz

Jazz,
I'm almost prepared to admit that the basic idea of the Euro is not really bad.. it's just the various traders/shops that were able to take advantage of it (uncontrolled)..
And the constitution..
I think it will end up in (the groups that used to be Germans, French, Spanish) getting their way and tapping in on the economic reserves of other countries.
This could be the final attempt in a row (1600, 1798, 1870, 1914, 1939) to make Europe pay tribute to either Spain, France or Germany.
No forget I said that.. it's not fair.
Hi

Hi Ra,
sorry I've been off line for a while - been busy working on a little job for a friend.
I would disagree with you - I won't forget that - I don't think it's not fair - I think it is entirely fair !!!
My generation spent 5 years struggling with the last attempt to dominate Europe and I bitterly resent the way Tony is throwing it all away. The Spanish trawl our waters and the French have done even more of a Vichy and joined up with the enemy. He's even going to give Gibraltar away - just you watch! We'll end up as one of the United States of Europe.
That's my head blown off - sorry
Weather hasn't been too good lately has it?

Hi

.. .. sorry.. I've been out for a real long time. In fact I hardly remembered my password.
Ha, EU and all that.. I'm thinking of moving to Switzerland. No EU, own currency, riduculously low taxes, polite tax inspectors (!)
And Tony.. well.. I'm still not sure what he wants to do with EU. Does he know himself?
