Welocome to h2g2 Rachael. First of all, I'd take a trip to <./>userdetails</.>. There you can change your user name to something more memorable than a number. Also, if you are a digibox user, then changing your skin preference to 'plain' will help you out.

Oh, that part's quite simple. 
h2g2 stands for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This website is an attempt to make an Earth edition of the Guide. Researchers write entries, which are then put for review. If sucesful, factual entries end up in what is known as the Edited Guide, were as fictitous entries go to the Under Guide.
However, there is no requirement for researchers to write entries, and many don't. There are many clubs and societies and lots of busy forums to talk at the such like.
Well I'm fine, lots of work 
, but the end of term is fast approaching.

Laura, from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire though currently at Nottingham university and I'm 19, though fast approaching 20, which seams an awful lot older than 19

You only need to write smilies in that format for Guide ML
Just write < flyhi > without the spaces for postings.
