Funnily enough, me dreading the season is much worse than it actually is. Last year was surprisingly relaxed and peaceful.

I'm not quite so tense this year, Hyp.

December is a difficult month for a lot of people. My family has a lot of uhappy dates to get through this month. And another one just today with yet another death. But there are good memories too. I'm learning to concentrate on the happy ones rather than the sad ones.

Maybe that's why lots of people so focus on Christmas? Because otherwise the month would be too dreadful?

The whole rich pageant of Christmas wouldn't be the same without the misery!

It's actually a blessing, Bel. A cousin with Huntington's Chorea. He inherited it from his mother who was totally disabled by it but lived for over a decade in a nursing home before she died. She couldn't even speak for the last several years. The horrible thing about this disease is that the body totally fails but the mind stays clear. At least my cousin didn't linger for years like that in a completely helpless state.
