It's my eldest son's birthday today, and it was nice.
He didn't want a new mobile phone (his isn't very reliable), or a better PC (same as with his phone), but asked for some fantasy books.
He got the 'Narnia Chronicles', 'The Book of Lost Things', and an audio book (in German). He was totally happy with his gifts.
I made him a cake and cooked one of his favourite dishes.
Then my youngest sun surprised me with a very funny hairdo.
I made a couple of photos (but only of my sons).
I tried it, too, and went to check whether my husband would notice the difference. He did. That was a surprise.

Oh, I've been married for too long to ask that question.
But we had a good laugh when the boys wore that wig.

There must be some purpose to which that wig can be put......home movie? Frightening the postman? Halloween?

He said he has Halloween in mind when buying it, but has now decide it's better for Fasching. (carnival)

Oh, yes - a great use.
Today we saw: a crazy fisherman, a rag doll, a cat, a vampire...all adults, and all either nurses or receptionists.
Only one nurse refused to wear a costume at the doctor's office. And the doctor, but he might have been on his dignity.

I *really* hope we won't see that here on Halloween any time soon. It#s bad enough people go mad during carnival.

In post 1: <<Then my youngest sun…<<
Is it that a typo or an expresion of maternal love?

In Spanish we use “ eres un sol” / you are a sun/ , as a love, praise expresion to friends, children, partners...
Your sons are indeed two soles, they are very goodlooking!

I'm sure he wouldn't have any other 'fantasy' books in mind when asking his grandma or me for them.
Maria, I never noticed that typo, but it is apt, he is a 'sunny boy'.

If it was 30th (I get out of sync with european days down here) then he shares a birthday with me! We are half way through the 31st down here and it has only just started in Europe.
