To hell with modesty
Malabarista - now with added pony Posted May 2, 2009
And people *are* interested in what we get up to over here, it seems - my German Wedding Traditions got the FP for the 10th birthday
So it's fine to keep writing that kind of thing, I think.

Hey, that's when your smiling Entry went up, too, and it's still there!

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted May 2, 2009
True. But I suppose nobody even noticed it was there, because they were all busy complaining about the smileys

I guess I should have warned you that that was going to happen. I recall the very same from when we got the last batch of smileys. I think poor Ged never did any art work vere after that.
And I have to admit that I quite like his smileys. Sure, they took a bit of getting used to, but they're all unique, as are the new ones.
(Thanks, Icy, for suggesting this completely useless but lovely smiley.)

It seems that people take the smileys very seriously. Nobody notices most Entries, or the blobs, but make a tiny collection of pixels like that and everyone's a critic

Oh, don't believe that nobody notices the blobs. Matt once had to do a different one (and I agreed with the criticism of the first one the author of the entry posted to EF at the time). But Edited Entries and blobs can't be 'used' by anybody, whereas the smileys can (and should be).

I'm not even sure what blobs are, anyway...
I'm not sure what life was about before the was invented.
Can anyone remind me?
Every time i see that title "to hell with modesty", i can't help thinking B'El's going on a holiday or something...

You can call me TC Posted May 2, 2009
It could be construed that "Modesty" is a girlfriend. It's a girl's name. As are most of the virtues (Faith, Charity, Hope, even Chastity, but not many people are called that, I don't think.
I've never seen any of the aviators' work, and this one didn't work for me either. I use Firefox, on a Unix operating system. Where am I going wrong?

Quite a few other posts from stunningfrenchie while I was writing that last one. One of which contradicts my theory about B'El's trip with Modesty.
I'll get me coat.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted May 2, 2009
I just tried the links in the article too; For me (using Win XP with IE or firefox), it seemed to just take me to a page on the H2G2aviators site, but not bring up the audio, or a link to the audio
