Sorry, Hoggy, I didn't think it would give anyone the wrong idea, it's been so long ago (nearly four years now) that it's all done and dusted for me, just the annual x-rays you're obliged to have for several years. It is a disease which is 'meldepflichtig' (subject to report). Here, it has the stigma of only being attracted by antisocial folk with very bad living conditions, which I think is why they check for that long.

Don't worry, I'm just glad you're ok. It has a bit of a stigma here too. Fear not, we'll still be your friends, even if you *are* a bit... well...

Ooh, that's looking a bit blotchy... I think perhaps we should keep a safe distance...
Perhaps a course of s would help...

I'm quite pleased to say that I'm not in touch with the patients! We just get the samples, thank goodness.
My sister is a nurse. I won't go into details, but a much abbreviated and cleaned up account of a conversation with her went along the lines of -
Me: I had some really horrible swabs today from lady-bits.
My sister: You think *you* have problems? *I'M* the one who has to take the samples from some 80 year old woman who's not had a wash in a month!
I've come to the conclusion that nurses are not paid anywhere near enough!!

Hey, Bel..
When I got an appointment through for Walton Hospital a few years back, I just put the letter in my handbag. Well we had been there before...
On the day, we turned into the carpark only to find the hospital closed and all boarded up!
Fortunately, the Eye Clinic was still open, so we asked there...
They had moved the hospital to the Fazackerly site

I think they are paid quite well here, but I have no idea whether it's enough.

Funny thing is, I don't get lost so easily in foreign cities - I always take a map.
I don't even have a map of Frankfurt, though.

Glad you're ok, though, Bel! I'm sure the checkups are a reasonable precaution, though nobody wants to be exposed to that much radiation...
Key: Complain about this post
