I've heard of young men doing such things, but mainly from TV. Have never experienced one myself.
Seeing a large group of girls, all wearing similar t-shirts with some slogan printed on them was novel.

It must be new in Germany.

Traditionally both would celebrate together the so-called "Polterabend" - having friends and family with them and porcelain is thrown which the two have to sweep up together, sort of good luck thing that is.

Yes, I told lil about this last night. I've been to the odd Polterabend or two, they're usually good fun.

I have never been to one
and I only have been to one wedding in Germany (my sisters first marriage)

But I have been to weddings in England and Tunisia (including my own)

I've been to a few German weddings, and two Turkish weddings. They differ quite a lot.

I suppose they do - the Tunisian ones are very different as well.

I had mentioned Sho's being chatted up in the long long post I ditched by mistake. I couldn't be bothered to write it all again, so you'll never find out what else I mentioned.

However, I did particularly go into a description of the Bierbörse (Beer Exchange) where we spent the last couple of hours or so, because it had such an amazing selection of beers from all over the world represented on that small square.

the Bierbörse is quite interesting (I will try to find a link that tells me how many different types of beer are on offer there)

We were really lucky that we found those free benches and that the weather was so nice, allowing us to sit there for hours without feeling uncomfortable.

Ahh , i'll be having a hen night too no doubt..quite a scary thought with Genie being maid of honour and therefore in charge of all that! god knows what she'll do to me
