Maybe it's assumed as a normal risk if you go to the doctor's?
I'm also kind of wary of donating at one of these commercial places, makes me feel like a milk cow

Commercial places? I think you camn do it at any hospital, just check out beforehand.

Yeah, there are advertisements all over the bus stops for them here!
I think my best bet is asking my trainer, he's a paramedic, and his organisation does regular blood drives.

Yes, either that, or the Red Cross. They do it regularly.

That's weird. They have several stations/day here in Frankfurt, and most of them start at 4.00pm and go till 8.00pm. My husband couldn't go otherwise.

Unless it's the red (
Oh, another quick idea for those who can't donate, before I go to bed.
Consider taking your pets in to donate blood. It doesn't have the same moral imperative behind it, of course, and I'd never even thought about the possibility until our dog suddenly needed a blood transfusion and it had to come from 400km away... The vet said our friendly, calm dog would've made a perfect donor, and we would've taken her in for that if she'd survived Apparently, there's even a reward programme, you get discounts on your vet bills or something.

That's great info, I never knew that. I'm off to bed myself now.
Goodnight and thanks for stopping by (how did you find this anyway?)

You didn't invade, it's you found this. I was only curious.
I don't think Hati ever posted in any of my journals, though.
