I know, RF, and you're right. I've heard that the Frankfurt stock exchange is not very happy with the recent development.

Well, I did economics as part of my HNC - while that was many moons ago - I think I get the idea about taxation - I was just stating that things are much cheaper down the road. Mind you the road is much better too - largely due to European money.
The £ can stand alone forever as far as I'm concerned, but I fear it will go ............ no time soon I hope, but I doubt if we'll be asked about it when it does.
I miss my old British Passport too - it was lovely.

Well, I hope fpor you that you'll never get the € - but then I'm optimistic, the brits are always so excentric, they'll never change it

I keep popping in, for a nosey, but as with any other thread of my friends, I will not just butt in for the sake of it(bad manners)only if I can contribute something to it

Most people do like you, which is why my journals don't attract that many people, I seem to choose the rather boring subjects - and I'm not funny. It's ok, Prof, I'm used to removing my journals after a couple of days anyway.

no its not that I just look for fun stuff B'El, but like Napoleon, I've nothing to give on this subject and it would be ignorant for me to come in and be a "fool"

It's ok, Prof, really, I did't expect people to know all that much about this, but more to have the effect I had after watching this. Which reminds me, it's nearly time to watch parts III and IV

It's yet 30 minutes before it starts. There was a very interesting short clip about the way people knit, though. They showed two women knitting: a German and a French woman - and how different they go about it
They told a story that during WWII Dutch women were on a train, gossiping until one of them started knitting - then everybody fell silent, because the way she knitted betrayed her - she was German. Amazing, eh? The woman on TV told that she went as an Au Pair girl to France in 1961, and the family there didn't want to confess she was German, so they asked her to not knit in public.
