HELLO
My first essay on BBC site. So, I suppose I shall begin. I foudn this site accedentally while looking for information on ancient religiosu practces, and foudn another steryotypical rant about how Wiccans where persecuted, and how the "Old Religion" was stamoed out by the masculine rule of e evil and omnimaleficent Christainity. Not only am I a christian, and find such insulting, I also dislike the fact that history and facts where either distorted or fabrecated. But this is my lot. People do not beleive the truth any more, they beleive whatever lie supports there political agendas. Christianity is on the decline, because its seen as an oppressive, outdated religion that has no appeal and is contradictory and hate filled, whereas Paganism totes itsself as anceint, and yet is free to be relevant nowadays, claimign toi be older than Christianity, shoudlnt it be more outdated? Then again I digress. The article was clealry wrong, and Christainities spread over most of europe was actually p[eaceful, with only a few occassions of forced vconversion, whihch was nto even done by all of Christianity, only by Catholisism of that era.
Also, Paganism was hardly a religion, Egypt, the Norse, Celtic religions, they where al.l seperate religions, not seperate traditions of a single religion. ISnbt it insulting to say that these are all the same religion, and ignore the cultural identity of the people who followed it?
Now, the stanbdard persecution angle on how bad Christianity was when it spread, all rubbish.
Still, thats not the point of this essay, which is a duel greeting, and acknowlegement on somehting.
My life is like Chirst8anity. I was blamed for very bad things much of my life, and though I am hardly sinless myself, I am not as bad as my reputation makes me out to be. For over a year I was internet stalked, and my stalkers claimed that I was attackignb them, tryign to destoy them, forcing my reliogion on them, and that I was a pedophile and child stalker. Well, once the correct allogation was made ( Played wto whatever internet community I was viziting at the time.) then no amoutn of argument was able to validate me. I was a pedophile, and everyone knew it. I was a religiosu bigot, and everyone accepted it.
Just liek Christianity spread by violence and deceait, and the Pagans of old where gentle and accepting, so too my stalkers where gentle and just wante dpeice and jsutice. I on the other hand was thr villain. All lies, but this is the perception tou see.
Peopel dont like me. I speak my mind, and will fight to the end on what I beleive in. But I am fair. I let others have there say and try to support there assertions. My veiws may be unpopular but are never unfpudned. Nontheless, I will be hated because I stand by my veiws no matter what.
People like beleivign I ma th ebad guy, it fits there image of me that they alreayd have and its easy to leap tot he conclusion that if someone accused me of somethign its true.
Why? Are humans that bad? They say Chirstians cant think for themselves, and yet most who write arguments agaisnt Christainity dont bother gettign the facts streight, and most who beleive there articels dont do it on actual research, but on what they have chosen to belive becaus it makes them feel good. Like my stalkers, the wiccans, who claim there rleigion is ancient when its realy young,a nd that Wicca means wise when it means bent or crooker, are like my stalkers, they say what makes there religion look good, and actively partake of Christian bashing.
Just liek my stalkers basjed me, and hten truied to destory me.
This is human nature, and I want to know why.
