Hi Scorpio,
Sounds really great! We're bobbing here there and everywhere in between the plasterers, brickies, electricians, cavity wall people, damp proofers and every other tradesman that you can think of!!!!

Everytime I walk into the house I get covered in plaster dust... and don't even mention the crumbling rubble that keeps appearing in the bed! :oO

Thank goodness for flexi-time... An early finish and a walk around the woods with the dogs should calm things down a little.. *hoping*

Then I'll get the bunnies cleaned out ready for going back outdoors now that we have such lovely weather again. I know that Smurfles is probably out in her little scooter already doing wheelspins on the lawn... *giggles*

I've just spoken to a friend of mine who's also been out on her little scooter. Unfortunately, the battery ran out half a mile from home and she's currently stranded.

Well happy Friday to everyone!!

Foxy was there for quite some time. Had an early bight last night but not before catching a tree creeper whizz across the garden while the men were there assembling our new chicken house ready for our new additions!

Our ex battery hens arrive tomorrow, i'm sure foxy will be so pleased!

Well.... we'll see.

My two gardens away neighbour has nine ducks of one sort or another. In the beginning, foxy had it away with two of them, so they bought a large shed and herd the quackers in to safety every night.

Evening Scorpio!

We have a lovely new hen house for the little critters with toastie warm nesting boxes and a big Zappy electric fence around it (only 12V that won't hurt foxy, just surprise him).

We go to collect them tomorrow afternoon once they have been collected from the battery farm... so that they are not too shocked when they're moved.

Fingers crossed I didn't just offend the entire population of the Earth!

Don't think we'll get too much from Foxy this evening as we have a security man camping on the farmland over the road and he's in a camper van with a generator attached *Whhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr* all night! You get the idea.

Anyway... off for now. Chat with you all soon!

Ahhh.... I think we're lucky not to have neighbours! I was in court this week listening to a case where the council wanted to get an ASBO on a lovely man for doing too much DIY. He was nearly in tears because he had bought the house and was having a DIY nightmare (hence the noise) and on top of that he worked away which only gave him 2 days out of every two weeks to actually get anything done in the house.

He's been served with two noise abatement notices and had broken them both when his new baby was born and at 3lb she was VERY ill in hospital and the only way he hot through it was to do work in the house ready for when she was allowed home....

Shocking! What IS the world coming to!

Well, out hen house is now ready and we're just having dinner before we go to Market Raisen to collect our new babies.... better go and eat!

Chat to you all soon...

Well done on the Tree Scorp!

The silly noise went on at two minute intervals, and i even got the grandchildren to sit and listen!!One of them went upstairs,..........and retrieved her mobile from under the bed, where she'd left it after staying here, and going home yesterday teatime.smiley - blushNeedless to say she'd received a text message, and her phone vibrated every two minutes,on the laminate floor, to let her know!!smiley - laugh

The poor man...i feel so sorry for him.I hope he gets his baby home safe and well...and that the house is ready for when he needs a nursery.smiley - hug

Smurfles! I wonder if your own next door neighbour was considering complaining about a smiley - weird noise he couldn't identify too.

How are the new babies Misty?

I've only just got back from the caravan, so am still trying to play catch-up.

Hi Scorp...

The new babies are doing very well thanks. First day out and they didn't know if they should come outside or not and then they didn't know how to go back in. Since then they appear to have it all sorted.

They are up clucking and waiting for us to open up on a morning and they now have their own little order to go back in at night.

We have been getting 13,14,10 eggs during a day (the 10 was when the weather was miserable!) and now have a little hand painted sign at the front offering Free Range Eggs for sale!!! 80p for 6.. what a bargain!

We have received some interesting news too this week.....

We have a nice lady from the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust here... they are going to build us a wildlife pond as a volunteer project so that we can be a relocation site for the Great Crested Newt, in time!

Anyway... while she was here she was tellingus how we almost certainly have badgers nearby!!!!!

So, last night we put out our first batch of yummy, yummy badger scoff.... and it's almost all gone this morning but this could be anything. Possibly Mr Foxy.... I think over this nice long weekend.. we'll be having a stay up night to see what appears and following other advice, think we'll try the honey butties tonight!

Anyway... we'll keep you posted. Smurfles... hope we'll see you soon and have a lovely Easter.

Misty xx

Misty Blue

well hello t all once again!

my apologies for the long silence but things have been a little crazy here.

I can say however, that we now have mummy foxy and her two baby cubs who are known as ant and dec... one is very patient, quiet and seems to sit back taking everything in and yet the other is a crazy loony tune who runs around all over and appears to drive mum and sibling a bit mad!!

great to watch and always very vocal...

in addition to this, we have a maternity roost for bats in our loft... they have well and truly arrived!

we were caring for 9 baby bats while we had 4 adults flapping around our heads in the living room!

and loving every minute of it... so, we've now joined the bat conservation trust and are looking at volunteering in the future!

i'll try to keep yu up to date but for now I have bones to put out for the foxes...

hope thqat you are all well...

Bones?smiley - yikes I sincerely trust there was still a bit of meat attached!smiley - biggrin Hungry cubs need meatsmiley - winkeye It's no wonder they were squealing - they were probably yelling "oy, where's the meat then?"

Hi Misty! It's lovely to see you posting again; and so great to know you have a foxy family to enjoy. I love mine; even if they do wake a body at 3:00am with their cattawalling!

I have some reasonably near neighbours; where the partner goes 'lamping' with a couple of lurchers - in your job you'll no doubt know all about that. Now! I'm in a cleft stick here - smiley - erm whilst I object in principle to the practice - I don't know enough about it to offer a valued opinion - and sympathise greatly with the bunny; the foxes (including cubs who need to eat too) around here get fresh rabbit on an almost daily basis. You don't normally find much in the way of rabbit on a housing estate.

I really love to hear about bats (are they pips?) My next door neighbour has had them roosting in an air vent in her bedroom wall cavity for some years now; and is quite happy for them to be there (probably just as well, seeing that they are protected).

Please keep the reports coming; and please make sure Websailor gets to know; she will find it wonderfully interesting. If you haven't got her PS, have a look on my friends list - she is so knowledgeable it's untrue. I don't mean to imply she is a know-all - just has such a vast interest in wildlife/preservation/protecting everything which moves or doesn't etc - you'll get on a treatsmiley - biggrin

Hi Misty Blue,

Scorp has sent me here and a quick look tells me I must read more! You sound as if you have more activity in your garden than I do in McWebbie's Diner (daytime) or McWebbie's Bistro (night time) so I shall enjoy taking a look.

Please add me to your friends and I wll try to add you to mine though I have problems with having two PS's at present. Not my choice, but I haven't had time to do anything about it..

Scorp smiley - blush I won't fall out with you but as usual you are a bit 'over the top' in your praise but it is much appreciated smiley - smiley

Will post this and go look around Misty Blue's thread and space.

See you later on my thread if I ever get there smiley - doh
