For some reason it's stuck me on the old warrior thread and not my real one, still it's good to get on one at least.

There was an announcement that h2 will be on premod on Monday. It was a bit confusing, but if I have understood it correctly, all new posts will be hidden, you can only read things that already exist -or so

Don't understand that, but then I'm not that bright, and as I'm not in Monday I'm glad it will not effect me.
Gotta take the car in for it's first service Monday, anyay, so that's gonna cost money
Here alone, let the other lads go as they are football fans and there is a big important match and they wanted to go watch it on TV at home, but football bores me so I don't mind. Couple of good detective programmes on this after noon. One is Mid somer murders, which is very English, and is about a murder in a quiet quaint English country village. A good who dunnit.
Got our photos back from our ladies weekend and we are having two enlarged to put in frames.Coll likes this casual one where we are standing by a painting and I've my arms about her shoulders. But I like a more formal one where we are by the hotel doors and we are both upright. I've my arm about her waist and she is face on to the camera, whereas in the other she is standing sideways. She doesn't like this one as I'm wearing my glasses and she pefers me with them off.
By the way, liked the Bruce Forsyth greeting. Where did you pick it up?

Not sure where, I think Artisan once said so
And I've come across 'I most love you and must leave you' a few times now, but am not exactly sure what it stands for, or where it comes from.
I don't care for , I think it's quite boring most of the time.
You're lucky that there is atleast one photo for each of you

Love you & leave means as much as you love, or like, the person to whom you are speaking, you must leave. It is a polite way of saying as much as you like the other persons company you have to go. As to where it came from, God knows, it is very old.
m not a fan, but he sings, dances, tells jokes and comperes quiz & game shows. He is very popular and very good a manipulating an audience. His catchphrase is "Nice to see you, to see you nice."
Anyway, as to the photos we have the negitives. We didn't like the offical photographer, no-one did, so we took our own on Coll's camera and had them printed up. A friend took three of us. Two very formal ones in the hotel lobby and one by a painting of a battle between two old galleons. Which made a good backdrop. Anyway. We had two of each printed and took the negitives into a photo shop and Coll is having the casual one done, and I'm having a formal one. I think the formal is far more better if you are putting it on a shelf in a frame, whereas the casual one is good for the album.
I'm writing this in the commerical break of the film. It's got a bit complicated. Some chap owns a local wood and wants to sell the timber. The villagers are trying to stop him. The female barrister fighting him in court is found drowned in a pond in the wood. Then it turns out he was having an affair with her and her husband is having an affair with the local rctor's wife. At this point I am completely lost as what the heck is going on. The Star War film the Phantom Menace is on later, but I thought that that was c**p. Still it's better than football.
We were sitting in the garden enjoying the sun yesterday, and today it is chucking it down with rain. There's no telling what will happen with the weather at the moment.
I hope all is well in Frankfurt and you and hubby and the lads are well and things are settling down with the schooling problems.

I do hope so, too, time will show.
It's quite warm here today, but it looks as if it's going to rain any minute - has looked so the whole day, though
Thanks for explaining,so that's another example of the proverbial politeness of the Brits. I've encountered it so often, here and in England, that I know it's true, and not just an unproven myth.
You'll have to tell me who was the killer

Went to post my answer and the system kicked me out I've just had to sign in again.
A young girl of 10 discovered the body with her 8 year old brother. They saw a Jack Russell dog there, but no-one would believe them Except this kindly copper.....well alright that's stretching the imagination a kindly copper....did and he's discovered that a local hermit type gardener type bloke has one.
The red herring is that it was the owner of the woods, or the rector. But I have a feeling it is the old hermit type gardener, as he knows how to mix potions and stuff from herbs and weeds.
Don't ask me what the heck is going on, I'm lost

That's funny, there's a saying here : Der Mörder ist immer der Gärtner (there's even a song about it), meaning : The murderer is ALWAYS the gardener (or would youchange the word order ? ) Do you have a similar saying ?

Just as I thought it was the butler!
Well that was what they used to say anyway!
A good cliche if ever there was one.
I was a bit miffed when some-one killed the gardener. Turned out a bit more complex than I thought. It seems the two elderly ladies who had been best friends were involved. The vet's wife was the villian. She and her friend, the game keepers wife, had been old school chums, but one was jealous of the other who had been the popular one.....or something. Anyway the game keepers wife shot the other in the woods as the police closed in. The gardener has known the vet's wife had done it and was blackmailing her, so she'd killed him.

Now I'm confused : who killed the wood owner ? Or is he the same person as the game keeper ?

The so-called *Della wars* - extending over several threads I try to stay clear from this sort of discussion, but lurk now and then when I come across one of those threads on 'ask the h2g2 community'
Btw, hubby gives you his regards. He's just started watching Woodstock on DVD and wants me to watch it with him, but I really think it's sufficient to listen to it - it's just masses of cars and people to be seen, and a few lawns and a village or small town

Never heard of the della wars. Thank hubby and pass on my regards.
You're right the music is the only thing worth listening to.
What are the della wars?
