Hope your birthday party was enjoyable
Sat Coll watched the wedding of Charles & Camilla. We laughed at some of the awful hats these people were wearing. Coll said they've all this money, much more than us and yet they don't know how to dress. There was this one lady with this ugly green hat all bows and ribbons. I could imagine the shop desperate to get rid of this hat. Thay'd had it on the shelf for years and at last found a mug to buy it. "Yes madam it looks wonderful on you" "Yes madam, just one only, an original." "Yes madam looks very fetching in it, just right for a royal wedding." Then when she left with it they said. "Thank God for that, we thought we'd never get rid of that hat" They were most likely thinking they'd never get rid of it.

I completely forgot about the wedding, so never watched a single minute. But with the family visiting, there hadn't been time to watch anyway.
We went to a restaurant on Saturday evening. The men went in while we women went to the next letterbox to post a letter. When we came to the restaurant, we had to learn that they didn't have a table suited for five persons.
They had offered the men a table with an additional chair, which was in the way from guests and waiters. There were two small tables in the corner, so I saked if we couldn't sit there, put the tables together and have an additional chair, nobody would have been disturbed, but they said they wouldn't put the tables together. The men had accepted the other solution, but neither of them had taken the chair where they would have to stand up to let somebody pass every other minute. I said we should leave and look for another restaurant, but the men had already ordered and got their drinks
Well, I was really annoyed , so I left and went home.

Damn right too. I would never have accepted the situation. I recall a gang had done something similar to a mate and me. I went to another table and my mate came with me. We sat by ourselves. Why should we sit in the path of other people and with our backs to the band? Nope I think you did the right thing and it was a rotten thing for them to have done to you. Not the act of a gentleman.
Getting ready to leave. Back on Wednesday.

Good Morning, good mornig, the best to you each morning
Dropped in to sing song for a second there.
Got to cheer myself up, its raining.
Cheerful thought. I'm going over to Colleen's tonight, she has salmon steaks And her bread pudding........
Ahem
got carried away for a second there. Just got a cheque through from the pet insurance. Seems wrong to claim for having to put my dog to sleep, upsets me still to think of her.
Cheerful thought We have seen a cheap hoiliday to Turkey. I don't like Turkey, but it's cheap.
Have been promoted to Junior Warden in masons lodge. I'll be in the chair in two years A chap from the grand lodge came down and I presented working tools to him and got a round of applause and he praised me afterwards. So things are looking up.

Congratulations
Why don't you like Turkey ? I've heard there are beautiful places to go to, and lovely weather

I went to Turkey and they shoowed us these weaving looms. Inside were little children, they said the children were employed as they were small and could fit inside the looms and that the children wnjoyed doing it. It was later revealed that these children were slave labour and forced into the looms. I have never liked Turkey since. I dislike anyone who brings harm to children.
Yes it has an interesting history, and its buildings are fascinating, but as I say, they don't seem to care much for THEIR children. Although they seem to treat tourist children nicely.
No don't suppose I gained weight. Salmon isn't very much, and the bread pudding I only took a little piece. So yes I brought some home to eat at work.

You are probably right about Turkey - they don't treat their women well, either, and I think they shouldn't be allowed to join the EU for many more reasons.
What are the ingreadients for bread pudding ? The name reminds me of the bread soup my mother used to cook when we were children, it was

Not sure It has raisins and sultanas in it. butter I'll have to ask Colleen. My mother used to make it. It is made out of excess bread, or bread that's going stale and is very popular. There is also bread & butter pudding, too, which I believe is similar.
Going to lunch at 12:30 back at 13:30. It is 12:25 now. Won't be long.
Changed our mind about Turkey, let you know when I return.

The Turkey hotel was a five star and all inclusive. It was right on the beach. The all in price was 285. When I rang they said that the 285 holiday had gone but they had one for 396. I said no and hung up. I'm told that this is common. They offer a cheap holiday as a lure, it doesn't exist, then when you ring for it they say it has gone and offer you a dearer one.
Look forward to your return at 15:30

There is a television programme here called Watchdog, on the BBC, they highlight scams like this. If the holiday people sell one at 285 then they are covered by law. They can say that they advertised it legally and sold it. They had just been too busy to remove the advert. There are ways around these things. Watchdog is very good. You normally just have to threatened someone with reporting them to the programme and you get satisfaction. Not always, but often. The BBC take reporters and cameras to the fiddling campanies and film them and show them on TV. It is really very good.
Shame feel like I could do with a break in the sun.
How are things in Germany? How is Hubby and the lads? Did Andreas's essay go well?
