Colleen and I are looking at the cinema's again, but there's nothing on we fancy at the local. We may have to travel further afield.

My brother lives some distance. A 45 minutes walk, or 10 minute car drive. I worry if the dog is pining for me, not having seen me for some time.

How is your health now? You're back at work, you say, so how is that going?

I'm fine, managed to gain a good 10kg weight ( about 1.5 stone)and have been back to work since January. We've got a new EDP since about three weeks, so work is still very chaotic and very busy

As to dates. Might have to juggle things, depends on Colleen.We have been discussing June or July for a holiday. Don't know where. Not her son in USA, too hot there then.
Maybe Spain. It's cheap and close.

In today's morning news, there's been a bit of a revolution and the holiday companies are being forced into organising things around the school holidays better. Free children places, cheaper packages and arrangements and so on. Just what these are meant to be heaven knows. but they are meant to be quite good.

Yes, that's what they offer when the children are not older than 12, but mine would count as adults and pay the whole sum, which´, for a family of four, is just too much - I could buy a car for that money .

Sorry to have vanished for a while. Had to attend a Fire Training course. Then Colleen rang to say her mate had been burgled. It seems she'd goie away to her boyfriend's on Saturday morning and returned to day to find it. The safe broken open, jewelry gone, money gone. She is in a terrible state and frightened to go home. Can't stop crying.Coll has invited her to stay with her for a couple of days. But she is with her boyfriend. A friend of mine is a police sargent and when I see him tonight I'll have a chat to see if her can help advising on home security.

The poor woman, it must be horrible for her. I've never experienced this myself, but everybody who has, says they never felt quite safe anymore.

When it happened to my mother she was very upset, it wasn't the break in or the mess, but they took her grandmother's wedding ring, which was not so much an exclusive item, but a sentimental one.

Anyway.

On a lighter note. I have been promoted in the mason's to a grade higher than I should have been, in other words I have jumped a grade

That's great, and I guess it's well deserved, but maybe I'm biased

Cold here, but at least ther snow has gone. They say it's going to be milder. But I haven't noticed it yet.

He hates the language, and I don't know what to do about it.

The more you try to force him, the more he'll retreat from it. I never wanted to learn French or German, either. But we had a clever teacher who taught us pop songs in another language, which of course engaged the teenage mind. He also told us jokes, clean ones. So we could tell jokes to each other and our parents wouldn't know what we were saying. Gimics? Yes, but they worked.
Engaging any teenage mind into learning is difficult. It's uncool to be smart, to be clever.

I don't put him under pressure, but the bad thing is, that he HAS to do it in school, and his forthcoming will depend on the marks he'll get - it sounds unfair, but the laws are such.
