I practically live on the train! I'm always going somewhere. Actually admittedly the only place I go at the moment is Yaz's house by train.

Birmingham is right in the middle of the country and then left a bit. London is in the south on the right hand side just to the left of a sort of bulge (which is Kent). Does that make sense?

I think it's very cool that you've done your family tree. It's not a common thing to do and I wouldn't know how to go about it.

My family is spread all over. Some of it is in America being lumberjacks. They have carrot haired children! I'm convinced they were put into my family by aliens.

If your school goes to age 18 isn't that year 13? It is in England.

There aren't really any trains around here. You can take one from Hartford or New Haven to NYC, and then on to Washington, DC, but that's about it. I think there's one that goes to Boston, too. And Chicago, but nothing (except commuter to NYC) that anyone takes on a regular basis.

Family tree-you can start by asking your parents/grandparents, and any other relatives. If your family is from Europe you'll have a much easier time if you get into it than I do. My family is from Europe, but I'm in the US. A bit difficult to go do local research. (although most of the european branches are old, and likely a loss/lack of records would make things difficult)

School in the US starts in kindergarten (age 5), and then goes grades 1-12.(age 6-18) So 13 years total. I'll be a sophmore (grade 10) this year, which means I have this year, plus two more (junior and senior years, or grades 11 and 12), and then I'll go to college/uni.

Sorry I've been away a while. I had some trouble at home to sort out.

That's really odd about the trains because here there are trains EVERYWHERE. Maybe that's what your tram system makes up for. Hang on do you have a tram system or have I made that up?

We don't have kindergarten. That's where it went odd! Well we do but we start "proper" school at the age of 5 in grade one.

How are you doing at the end of this week then? I haven't been doing much as I spent a while doing very small boring things.

There really isn't any good transportation around here. The state bus system wasn't very far rreaching to begin with, and budget problems have reduced it even more.

Um, all I've really done this week is hang around the house. I went to a violin lesson yesterday morning, I'm finishing a cross-stitch project of a butterfly that I'm going to put in my room, cleaning said room, and doing geneological research when I'm supposed to be doing something else. smiley - smiley
My grandparents are going to come this afternoon, to visit for a week. But I leave Monday, so I'm going to miss a lot of that.smiley - sadface

Aw! my grandparents are coming soon and my grandad bought my granny a new sports car! I can't wait to see because I think that's really sweet and romantic!

My poor doggy is going blind! I only mention it now because she just ran into a chair leg. She's only 6...or possibly 7.
