Traveller in Time on top
"One of the things I like about Linux is the statement:
'From now on, you are on your own.' Halfway through the installation.
Much, much better then the 'Contact your system administrator' annoying MS message.
And admitted, my comment is not very usefull, though every installation is something specific for that machine. Hard to say 'Do this and that to go easy.'.
My basic advice is _not_ to use a multiboot system if it is your first experience with Linux. Perhaps then try a live CD, only a little temporary disk space needed.
Do not underestimate the size of a full grown Linux distribution, they take more then 3 Giga Byte with ease. Only with some eperience you will manage to fit it on 20 Mega Byte."

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again. Posted Jun 9, 2005
"My basic advice is _not_ to use a multiboot system..." I would have put the OSs on separate HDDs, with the other unplugged at the time of installation. Then plug both in at the same time and see if it passes the smoketest.
"Do not underestimate the size of a full grown Linux distribution..." I have plenty of space free at the moment, a little over 200gig I think. I'm not too fussed how big it is, only if I can get it to work or not.

Traveller in Time very happy with his hyper speed 350MC and loads of disk space 2.1GB system
"In that case, have a look at the magazine stand, they often have full distributions on DVD. "

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
