"Why should they not?"

"Otherwise their tongues would get entangled."
Traveller
"Whaaah, go to sleep, dream about it."

When children come out with such remarks, it certainly makes you wonder... "Are they ours"

"Well, they are definitely ours.
It is just I want to record some of their sayings, otherwise we will forget about them.

The afternoon we played a game of monopoly.
'Rose'(6 years) insisted to, even while it was sunny outside. Her little brother 'Waterrat'(4 years, last quik he had the swimming examination 'to be capable to survive when falling in the water with his clothes on'), who has had lots of practice with computer monopoly would play for his own. (!)

Though 'Rose' did show off she was a good cashier by using all sizes of notes as required, 'Waterrat' amazed us by just reading the chance cards by himself .

'Rose' keeps complaining her computer does not give access to internet sites. I will have to work out the firewall policy soon. Otherwise she will manage to find a backdoor on her own."

What very quick and intelligent children you have TT.

As parents you must have spent a lot of time talking and teaching them.

Amazing how fast they grow up, isn't it? I'm trying to think of what I was doing at four and six...can't remember. It does amaze me, however, that they have patience enough to sit still and play Monopoly at that age. You have taught them well.

They keep asking about nearly anything.
And we explain, trying not to reveal too much of what they will learn at school.
With the effect 'Rose' tried to explain her teacher at school an insect really just has six legs and a spider has eight legs and no wings.

Just crossed my mind, does not everybody have this amazing behaviour during their childhood? "

...I think I did. When I was a kid. my little brother doesn't do that much, though.

They seriously tried as hard as they could to stunt me, especially after I correctly diagnosed a fellow classmate with arrested development in kindergarten. I had to sit in the front of the classroom so I wouldn't talk and was only allowed to ask questions after the lesson was done. I think it's better to let them ask or they get into terrible amounts of mischief.

I used to have the problem of picking up everything early and then having to wait for everyone else. Wait, I still have that...

I was a lone parent of two for many years. I tried to give time to each of them individually each day.. I found that the youngest came on in leaps and bounds because she listened to me helping her older sister!

I cannot complain.. they both achieved good O level standards and both have good jobs that they enjoy (most of the time).

That dreaded word "why" comes in at around 3 years of age and never goes away! Just keep answering, they will work out how to use the information when they need it!

Yeah, i'm the youngest, so I used to love listening to all the stuff they were telling my brother and then knowing it all when it came to learn it at school. The annoying thing is it makes class REALLY boring...

Like, when my brother was in year 9 and I was in grade 6 he taught me Pythagoras' Theorem, and so this year when we learnt it, I already knew it! (What a bad example that was...)

"We try to avoid learning them things they will learn at school, however I am convinced we fail that in lots of answers.
On the other hand I remember myself studying encyclopedias in the library just becouse nobody would give a satisfactory answer."
