Need a bit of help? Well, as an ACE, that's what I'm here for. If you want to find out more about ACEs and what we do, vist the <./>ACE</.> homepage.
Here's your towel , so now you know were it is, here goes...
A good place to start is Feisor's list of hints and tips for new researchers. You can read that at A710840. Taking the <./>DontPanic-tour</.> is also very useful.
Want to learn how to use smileys? Visit the <./>Smiley</.>page
Got a question you want to ask the h2g2 community? If so <./>Askh2g2</.> is a good place for it. If you want to chat, try <./>MiscChat</.>. Maybe you want to conribute to the Guide? If so, then there's <./>contribute</.>
If you'd like to brighten up your page a bit, A690518 is a good place to start.
To find out what's happening on site, read <./>thePost</.>, h2g2's very own newspaper. <./>thepost</.>
If you ever need any help, or just want to chat, simply reply to this message and I'll get back to you.

I wondered how I managed to miss it for so long myself.. It's great fun, but very addicive.
If you ever want some more links of where to go, or want to learn about how to contribute to the Guide, then just ask.

Sorry to bug you but I have a few question sthat he help thing hasn't helped with.
1. The My Conversations bit seems to have a poor memory. Sometimes it remembers sometimes not. Do I need to do something or is it just one of those things?
2. How do you search for conversations on topics that you may find more interesting?
thanks

I'm here to be bugged
1. 'My conversations' only has your most recent conversations in it, try clicking on 'show more conversations' at the bottom of the list. If you still can't find the converstions, then you may have acidently unsubscribed to that conversation, and need to go back to it and re-subscribe.
2. You can search for guide entries using search, and post on them. On advanced search, you can search for threads, but the chances of finding an active one that way aren't great. However, you could try joining one of the clubs or societies. There's a list of some of these at A630019. If you still don't find something, then start a thread yourself in a place like Askh2g2 or MiscChat.

you clearly do spend a lot of time on this thing. The my conversations thing is just being erratic, i can live with that, but the link was very helpful, thankyou kindly.

If it's something technical, then the Gurus are the people to ask.
Yes, I do spend a lot of time on this thing . Actually, not been on much at all today, but you've caught me when I am.

hmmmm I have always made it a rule not to have a guru, but in this case it might be an idea. The real Linus the cat, i.e. the one who wants feeding and who only likes computers because the top of the monitor is warm has his paws in the way and that may be part of the problem.

The gurus are very useful, they seem to know jut about everything... Maybe it is the
Not a Guru myself though so can't really say...
Yup, ask the Gurus, but don't be too supprised if you get five replies at once. They like helping with technical stuff quite a lot.
