Daniel Isaac Eaton - an Historic Figure

Eaton was a fairly obscure chap who was constantly being jailed at the end of the eighteenth century right up to his death in 1814. I did a dissertation on him and have never been able to use it really, so it might be an interesting thing for here.

Plus - more on Walks in London

The route would be:
Euston - British Museum
British Museum - Covent Garden
Covent Garden - Soho/China Town
Soho - Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square - the Thames

Then you're at the river and it's easy to find your way round that.

I also propose to point out interesting things on the way, and good places to eat cos this is always one of the difficult things in London.

I thought of a few categories for it, such as:
Minimum time for walk (which I would try out)
Escape route (nearest tube)
Places of note en route
Best place to eat
Best place to drink

Erm.. there were more but I forget them now..

Entry ideas

Thought I would start developing some ideas here, so as to not humiliate myself on the main guide smiley - smiley

- Walk round London
With the aid if a compass, how to find your way round London in the quickest possible way. London is really pretty simple, and poor tourists are constantly forced onto the tubes

- Wildlife on Clippers Quay, Isle of Dogs
Thought this would be a bit of a microcosm kind of study which I could start making journal entries on. There are many different types of animals on a tiny dock and it really is an interesting place.

Hm. There are more, but i have forgotten...

Bloomsbury sighting

Weird! I just saw a little piece of Ghormanghast in Bloomsbury!

A black cat was sitting by some railings, which is unusual enough in C London (as they get run over and have no wild birds to kill). It really was one of those skinny evil cats, and just as I was pondering going to say hello, this huge black raven-type beast came soaring over cawing. Horrible it was, and the cat ran off.

Freaky.

But anyway, I have work to do...
