The first thing you should do is take a look at the front page and familiarise yourself with the place. The front page can lead you to numerous conversations and articles as well as the post <./>thepost</.> which tells you about clubs and societies and whats happening on h2g2.

Also to change your researcher number to a nickname you can click <./>UserDetails</.> or 'Preferences' deltete the contents of 'Nickname' box and replace with your choice, then scroll down and click 'Update Details'. While your there you may like to try out the different skins (backgrounds) see which you prefer to use.
