When I was young, My father had baseball on the radio.
We always recognised the announcers voice:
The voice of the Detroit Tigers- Ernie Harwell.
He recently died and one local restaurant posed the question-

"how many years was Ernie Harwell the voice of the tigers?

A: 42 smiley - biggrin

No foolin- he worked elsewhere before Detroit
had his first broadcast of a Tiger game in 1960
his last in 2002.
For a die hard tigers fan this mmight be the Ultimate question:
How many years was Ernie Harwell the voice of the tigers?
A: 42

Such a massively useful number, eh?smiley - ok
And that would be a marvelous UQ for the fans!

Wasn't Ernie the one that they replaced for awhile, and had to bring back because of fans' insistence?smiley - doh

I remember reading that it was, in part, his infectious excitement that made him so popular an icon in his own right. If he isn't in the Tigers' hall of fame, he certainly should be!smiley - biggrin

PS: Speaking of 42, I did a complete re-write of the UQ entry and its title. (except for part of the opening which sets it up).

I got a curious e-mail from the editors.
Some scout picked the New Hampshire article back in April but those dealing with the picks were 'so massively busy' that they didn't get around to approving the pick until the 10th of May.

Is Liqueur a British spelling or a commercial one ( like citibank)

Yeah, Strong Bad is a wide departure from my normal fare. Someone sent me a link because of some 'whale' character.

A liqueur has been flavored with "fruit, herbs, nuts, spices, flowers, or cream" (and sugar). I once bought my dad a kit that suggested that he'd be able to make Liqueur from small bottles of 'essences' (by simply adding vodka), Yuck!'

I was inspired to mention liqueurs because of my entry on Coffee Liqueur (a la Kahlua).
