Hello Ford,
Long time - no speak!
I see you've updated your page, and contributed a considerable amount of entries to the guide. Good going!
I hope everything is well with you.

Well, Hi Flame!
If it isn't my favorite short-story writer, where've you been keeping yourself??
Thanks for the kudos, but you can see that my rate of output has quickly diminished. I've got another two in the works, but not yet ready for here.
I actually have written a couple not-for-EG pieces that were fun. My entry on How the Pyramids Got Their Shape, is almost a short-story. I'd be interested in your opinion!
I'll stop by your PS to see what you're doing.

Hi
I'll read the Pyramids entry - and get back to you with my comments.
You will not find much in my personal space. I'm still writing - in fact my first short story is to be published in a few weeks. It's my Of Rivers Unseen entry, it's in my list - it's the first one - not the UG entry. I expanded the original idea, and it will be one of the stories in a si-fi book.
I'm really pleased to get something published, and looking forward to seeing the other stories in the book. All very exciting.....

I should think SO! Congrats on many levels!
Let us know what the title of the publication is and the name of the publisher.

Hi Ford,
I eally enjoyed your pyramid entry. It's surprising how many people are sucked into these schemes - and I like the way you have explained it. Very nice work indeed.
I was wondering what attracted you to writing on this subject?
Thanks for the congrats. I don't know any details about the book as yet - but I'll let you know when I do.
I joined a writing group in January. I've enjoyed the face to face contact with other would be writers. Also we can submit one piece of work for review every month. The reviews have been really worthwhile - probably for several reasons.
Keep up the good work....

I'm afraid you've confused me a bit?!
I was referring to: A9681546 How Pyramids Got Their Shape - Revealed
I think you may have read a piece on Pyramid Schemes. Sorry to put you to the extra effort.
My entry had to do with the ancient Egyptian pyramids.
Yes, face to face is marveous. I remember my writing classes fondly. I had great fun playing with words.
I remember writing an essay called 'My First Time', which started by giving the impression that it referred to a sexual experience, but was in fact about my first skydive. There were a lot of embarrassed faces until I got to the part about the parachute!

LOL! That's a great story about your writing class. I bet you were laughing to yourself!
And now to the Ford Pyramid entry. Whoops! I read the wrong one... But then you've always known I'm a blonde.
The Pyramids. I remember them well. (Not very interesting on the inside). No, I wasn't there when they built them, ha!
Seriously, I have indeed read your entry this time round. And I see it also made it into the CAAC. Well done for that!
Will we find you writing short stories in the future?

Short stories? Perhaps. I've got several in my back pockets somewheres about. I've also finished a play and a musical, neither of which has been performed as yet. I'm working on another musical, but that's been stretching out over several years, and I have little on paper to show for it.
Thanks for the kudos. I believe it was my first CAAC piece. The one about How to Use a Sword was not expected to go anywhere, but it needed writing, so I writ it.
The play I mentioned was actually derived from an earlier short story. I shared the story, as a sample of my writing, with a friend at work (who was loaded with ideas, but to embarrassed to show anything he'd written). I'd hoped that by showing him one, he'd feel more at ease about sharing, but to no avail.
What he did do was ask if I'd ever thought of turning it into a play. A Play?!?!? It was basically a dialogue, with no real setting or clealy defined characters. It took a little thinking, but I soon found myself writing a two-act play out of it, with about a dozen characters.
Quite a change, but the flow and the concept stayed pretty well intact. Suprised the bejeebies out of me, but I liked it!.
You never know where that face-to-face stuff will take you.
PS: I'm working in a software development space in this employment incarnation. That's what prompted me to write about Pyramid project management.
Key: Complain about this post
