Welcome to H2G2, Heather:
It is unusual to be welcomed here by someone other than what is called an ACE, but the Canadian researchers around here have been seeking each other out. There are a few places that we meet: the newest is the Canadian Researchers' Club A1037323 ; another is what we affectionately call the "Chief Gordon Lightfoot thread" A1040356 .
Feel free to drop by and chat with other Canadians. Or not, if you'd like to be private (as we all do).

Thanks! I've been busy exploring the site between newscasts (I go on every half hour, from Midnight to 5am). I'm not really allowed to do chat from work, but I'll drop by once I get home, maybe.
