Almost Uno....

Here's a thought. Has anybody heard of a game called Almost Uno? It's played alot like Uno in the fact that all the basic rules stay the same (you play until you have no cards left calling out UNO at one, you draw if you can't play(playing a card of the same suit or number or a wild) until you can play again) EXCEPT...

It's played with a regular deck of cards (well, make that four or five decks because of how often people have to draw*)smiley - evilgrin
Every card has its own special phrase (for example**, when you play a two, you have to say "it takes two to tango")
You cannot talk out of turn (*)
You have to play within 9 seconds (*)

* DRAWING: The dealer must be somebody affiliated with the rules of the game. If a player is rude or does something against the set rules, then that player is given cards. One way to get out of talking out of turn is to call a "point of interest" (during which all players lay down their cards and cannot touch them. Then each player can ask a yes-or-no question to another player regarding anything about the game or rules.) or a "time out" (which is much different than a "point of interest" in the effect that you can ask any kind of question and you do not have to lay down your cards. A way to get out of the 9 second rule is to call "waiting" which allows you to take as much time as you need during your turn. Any breaking of the rules set by the dealer beforehand will result in a penalty of a card. (this includes "being rude", "talking out of turn", or anyother offense the dealer finds fit.)

**All examples are from my own groups rules.

SEVERAL CARDS HAVE SET PHRASES:
Kings- when you play, "Yo Ho, the King of ___"
response "Long Live the King!" (all players failing to say so will be penalized by a card.)

Fives- "Lincoln"

FOURS- hearts-"john" clubs-"ringo" diamonds-"paul" spades-"george" ('naming incorrect Beatle' will result in a card)

That's basically it. Come up with your own phrases and hand motions for the other cards. Oh and one more thing. When you are playing with another person, you cannot tell them any of the rules. Have them written down on a piece of paper for your own reference. And post your own ideas for card phrases and/or hand motions here.

Another Question

Has anybody seen any good movies lately? I'm thinking about starting a movie thread on here and reviewing the movies that I usually see every Dontbrey (or however you spell it). Last week (or was it the week before) I saw "Secret Window". It was an alright movie. But it reminded me of "Fight Club" (I won't tell you why.)

Questions 5...

A lot of things have happened in my life. And it always made me wonder "What human quality do we all posess that causes humans to enjoy hurting others?"
