Ejecting out of cars
I am still arguing about the future possibility of safely ejecting people out of cars prior to fatal collision. I believe that nowadays all technologies are available to introduce a system like this. Actually I sometimes wonder why such systems are not yet in service.
My view is such, that future cars would contain an ejectable cabin lifting the driver and all passengers way up and then landing safely.
Such systems would require sensors detecting fatal encounters at high speed early enough to still achieve 2 vital things:
1.) smoother ejection (not just pure explosive power that would crush your spine)
2.) timely coordination with ejecting cabins of other approaching vehicles to avoid air collisions
Before all this happens there is a need to check wether you are in a tunnel or if there is a bridge above you.
Airbags inside the cabin would force passengers into positions for a safer lift off. The lift off may be achieved with two types of forces. The first one must respond very fast, so explosion is feasable here, just like in airbags, but the force must be hydraulically damped to reduce the g-force gravity to acceptable
values to minimize injuries. The second would be rockets bringing the cabin high enough to make use of parachutes.
Many people said that we will never see such technology that would be capable to calculating and executing all this in a matter of split seconds, but i believe this is not case. Airbags are even triggered by sensors during(!) impact, where as sensors in front of the car could recognise a fatal situation a second or even more before.
