Hi Diane, missed you so much I've come over here! Gosh I'm so excited I haven't a clue what to talk about! Where do you park in an empty car park? Anyway I'm here now, so when I can think of something sensible to write I will. Oh hold on a second something sensible might take a heck of a long time, so you may have to allow me to talk a load of rubbish, as usual!
He he. I'm off to find Big Eric now, and a few of the other chums from the H and N board!

Hi there Ian, its like playing naughty games here, we have all decided to be naughty children....oh what fun wicked. Anyway welcome on board, i hope you enjoy this site as much if not better.
Big E is away for a few days but back i think on sunday. If you look at my intro scroll down my list of friends and you should find some of the nutrition site there..Big E is there too.
So how ya doing, whats the weight loss like at the moment? I hope you are doing well you deserve to. I am sorry if it upset you me going awol and all, but i started to get really bitter feelings about how things were changing, trying to lose weight is stressfull enough without others giving you grief at the same time too.
Anyway look forward to your reply, take care honey bun Diane xxx

Hi Diane, it's good to be in touch again. I really do appreciate and treasure your council, even though I'm doing the A diet!
The other boards fracas never bothered me, I'm a thick skinned person, and you impress me as being a very tender lady! Mind you I was always lucky that no one ever savaged me! I have noticed the odd post from people who I feel aren't their to help people, or to be helped! Theres two camps in this, the ones who want to impress you and influence you, and then there some who are just trying to be argumentatitve, I notice that this is a case with a lady who started posting fairly recently. So I can see your frustrations.
I did enjoy seeing the tussle between Ruth and Nige from time to time, but I'm sure they really have a healthy respect for each other! I certainly appreciate them both.
It was a masterstroke of yours getting Big E to give me that reply on my first post. It did me the world of good, I did enjoy a bit of banter with him now and then, and am very much looking forward to resuming here!
I'm pretty lucky that my wife helps organise the shopping and meals so my regime is not stressful at all. I have been encouraged by Ruth, Krystali (I haven't seen any posts from her for ages), Paul and some others to start exercising! It's that I can't stand! In fact if I ever meet Ruth, I might give her a piece of my mind! Actually being a coward I don't think i will, I'm sure she would be well able for me, and really I'm gald I'm exercising although i wouldn't admit it! From what I've seen she's got Nige going too!
Well lastly my weight! When I started I was a scale buckling 165 kilos. In 14 weeks I've lost seventeen kilos, and I'm due to weigh in again tomorrow. Even though I still weigh well over twenty stone, I can't tell you how fit and health I feel! So it's doing me the world of good! I beleive I've lost more fat then that though, because contrary to some poster's belief my muscles are getting bigger! There is absolutely now no doubt in my mind the my upper body has strengthened.
So good news all round, and I'm really happy I discovered the Beeb message board as I feel I've had good advice, encouragement, and I class these people even though I haven't met them in person as friends! So chuffed to bits!
How are you doing with your goals, not that I can help you, but I am interested in you too!
Love
Ian

Hi ya there buddy!!! Sorry i havn't been able to reply all day only i have been having major problems getting logged on. I was really worried that you had found me and i couldn't reply ;( but i can now.
You are doing so well with your weight loss you deserve a cracker jack pencil.
So now you are asking me well since the end march i have gone from 11st 3 1/4 to 8st 12 got another 7lbs to go and then thats it, i am calling it my maintence weight. I had a really nice e mail off my hubby today that said he thought i looked fantastic nude and he didn't want me to lose anymore.....nice but i am still going to lose another 7lb. I think he is getting worried that my eating disorders back well it ermmmmmm is a little bit but i am trying very hard to control it. The one thing i have found that triggered me off was a few of my clients decided to weigh me when they knew i was trying to lose......bad mistake to let them it ended up feeling as if i had something to prove!! But thats me i know i should know better but hey it dont make me a bad person Diane x

Hi Diane, yes I found your post, there were two threads with the same name, so I unsubscribed to one, and that seems to have sorted my end out (whoops)! Anyway, flipping well done on the weight loss! I think I lost weight myself reading your post! Goodness, I like to think of myself as being young and virile (yes I said I like to think of myself as that), but I just wasn't ready for you mentioning how good you look in the nude! Anyway I've calmed down now so I can type in this post!
I'm not quite sure why, still trying to understand the mecahnics of this site, but your journal entries have come up as conversations on my page! Weird! Infcat I replied to one befroe I realised what was going on!

Hi Ian, well i have had a horrible day, been really busy with work, and lots of miles to travel, weighing and measuring and advising etc etc. I left the house at 8am, and by 4pm nobody had even bothered to offer me a drink!! You see i normally would say no as i have quite a small bladder, but with todays heat i was dehydrating!!! I had 1 more client to see....not far away from home Yes bet youve guessed it, my fan belt went on my car, and i live in a rural area, 1 1/4hrs the rac turned up and didnt have the right fan belt!!!! Anyway i am now back at home, nicely wound up, the house is a mess, as the teenagers have been here all day and just don't care arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Anyway i have weighed myself to day and good news i am now 8st 9 so i have 4 lb to lose by a week on thurs, at this rate i should beable to do it.
When i decided to do my journal entries i had no idea all my friends would get to read it like that, i thought it would only get read if they went on my front page. So i may not do that again, will have to think about it. I don't want to upset others.
Anyway me duck (now guess where i am from ha ha) how is your weight loss going? It must be so hard being in this beer thingy ma jingey, me larky i mean how can you have a decent disscussion talking about your very wealness when trying to avoid it......beats me!! You must have the willpower of an ox, or just dam foolish........ok ok you aggree with me on the second one ha ha.
Got to dash house to do DIane xxx
Hi Diane
ianheavy Posted Aug 5, 2003
Diane, I do think it’s a privilege knowing you! Here I am speaking to a professional who gives of herself so freely!
On the drink side we have the same problem, with some clients! We invoke the kettle test! Our line is “to check the system will work okay under all circumstances, we now need to switch something else electrical on! We would suggest the kettle!” This nearly always works!
Now on car’s my wife’s not to happy herself right now! One incident I might say she had a hand in the others she was perfectly innocent. For years we have had RAC memebership, and haven’t mad any use of it! We have run Mercs for a few years, but our latest one will be the last. It really is that bad! Our first two Mercs did 180 000 miles and 165 000 miles flawlessly. They still cost a fortune to run, as I only would get 18 miles to the gallon, Heather a lot better would get around 22-24. Well four years ago we bought a new Merc, a sort of leather lounge on wheels! For the first three years of life you get a Mercedes service if you breakdown, well we were on first name terms with a lot of these drivers we saw them so often. We’ve had three gearboxes, five suspension failures, eight central locking failures and so many other problems I really can’t remember them! So on your lifestyle side of things you may want to advice your clients not to buy a car with the three pointed star on the front, it’ll save them so much stress. Anyway back to the story Heather parks the car on the drive and we both next day jump in to drive to work, she starts the engine, but can’t select drive. Another failure, this time it’s a cable that connects the gear stick to the automatic box. The RAC are called and recover it to the main dealers. The part costs just over thirty pounds, but the fitting costs nearly £400.00! They have the car for three days, so we need to hire one too. This is not untypical of the repair bills I’m paying out on it now it’s out of warranty! Yikes!
We have a number of cars with running our own business and flying around the country. Later that week Heather takes out the coupe for a trip down to a client, smells burning and the car is not performing properly but she keeps going anyway. The engine blows up, as there has been a water leak! I hope your sitting down £5100.00! So I’m now feeling rather poor as well as frustrated that I’ve bought two pups!
The next week I buy a Morris Minor Traveller! Its cheap to insure and I bought it as a bit of fun, and to teach our two to drive, which D my son is really enthusiastic about. Well because the coupe hasn’t yet finished repairs H uses it for a business trip! It broke down on the M1 right on a junction. Heather phones the Rac, they say, as you’re a woman on her own, you’ll have priority. H is feeling pretty uncomfortable, as there isn’t even a barrier for her to stand behind with where the car is. Three and a half hours later the RAC Turn up. They recover it to our house. The good news is it took me ten minutes to fix, and all it needed was a new coil, about twenty pounds. We’re thinking very strongly about Heather only going to clients she can reach by public transport!
Now something more fun where you’re from? Well I admit I intended to cheat, I had a look at you personal space to see, but you haven’t put it there! Anyway I’d hazard a guess at the East Midlands, perhaps Leicestershire. I have stayed in many parts of the country and when in Leicester, that’s where I heard it!
Gosh it’s going to take you ages to read this, I feel like I’ve unburdened myself now! I hope you won’t be thinking twice about writing back, generally I’m not into bad news as I manage to avoid it!
Your weight loss sound brilliant, I do know by what I’ve learned recently that it’s harder for women, particularly when you’re nearing your target weight. So well done! I can understand how tough it must be when you’re in the profession too. I cringe if there’s even a minor problem on any of our computer software.
I’ve now lost about eighteen and a half ( and that half is important, a bit like growing up, do you remember when you were seven and a half, I’m not sure when that becomes less important as you get older, and I’m sure it’ll always be important when losing weight) kilos in fifteen weeks. I’m hoping to get to twenty kilos before the Peterborough beer festival, in two weeks time.
Phew what a scorcher! Is this the longest post you’ve ever had! Have you aged while reading it! All this and more in your next post! After my initial confusion on journals, I can see a use, it give you an opportunity for a bit of fun, in sharing with all your friends, something they can relate or contribute to!

Wow, you are just like me, i tend to type type type and forget some poor bugger at the other end has to read it personally i love long posts you get to know someone far quicker that way, so don't worry be
Well i think i would have died of a heart attack 1. at the prospect of being stuck on a motorway broken down 2. the sheer expense!
My car is a citroen ax 1.5 diseal, fantastic on fuel i love her to bits. Mal has a heap of a car called a SAAB yuk yuk and even more yuk. It is a classic (classic my foot a classic piece of crap!) anyway it drinks fuel that fast you can hear it swallow it! I always say it has an automatic indicator on it, it indicates when ever you drive near a petrol station. I have nagged and moaned and groaned about it for years and now i think the penny has dropped and he is thankfully thinking about selling it.....i wont call it a her its too offending to us her's!
Your weight loss is mage well done. I know it is very hard, keeping the willpower and motivatuion going but it really is worth it in the end. I once read a message from a girl whom was recovering from an eating disorder, i will type it as follows:-
Every time you take a stepforward the next step is lower than before and after a while the steps become a path and all you have to do is walk, yes your legs get tired sometimes, but that's ok because you can stop and look at the scenery for a while and then start walking again when you feel happy again, it is worth it, the view from up here is much more spectacular than the one down there, you can be sure of that. I am a million x's happier than being anorexic ever made me.
Now after gasping what a bloody thought for the day that is. What you have to do is read it and take on board what she is saying transfer it to yourself with regards to losing weight and there you have it,a fantastic description of what that road is like. Like i say if dieting were easy everybody would be slim.
So i will leave you to ponder about yourself and like wise me.

Pondering about you, might be just too distracting at work!

Hi Ian,
Sorry i couldn't get back to you earlier been at work from 6.15am - 7.00pm! knackered! Can you believe people want weighing at that time....mental!! Whats even more mental is nobody offered me a drink yet again. Now this is really starting to get to me, here i am sweating my b----s off (well if i had any) going from house to house, by mid afternoon looking pretty rough to say the least, and parched like i have just come out of the Sarhra dessert. So i have now decided to ask if i need a glass of water. If they say no then thats it they have gained 1/2stone!!!! tough!!!
I thought you would like that little speech there, so when you go through a rough patch think of that path and view the scenery.
Well we are off for the weekend tomorrow, on the bike. We are going to Swansea and Newport to see relatives and friends, so will be back on sun night. Enjoy the peace while you can. ha ha
So now i am off to tidy up and get the house ready so i can pack.
You take care Diane xxx

ianheavy Posted Aug 11, 2003
Hi Diane, hope you had a good trip! Is it a motorbike, or can your ride tandem? You must get more bold, and ask for a drink! Being dehydrated is not good news! Perhaps you should also add advice on social skills to those clients!
Don't hesitate with more speeches, I do save them up for a rainy day!
Look after yourself

Hi there Mr baggy trousers lol, i love it when my clothes get baggy. Most of my wardrobe now fits, it would be better though if we were in 1980 not 2003, then i would be in fashion!
We had a fab weekend, the weather was great and we also went on the beach. Eating was fine, my sister in law did not step over the line once which was a relief!
When ever i asked for a coffee or a piece of fruit i could see their reactions on their faces, wow she can eat!!
I have until thurs to lose another 2 1/2lb so the weight will be the same as when i first had my op., I am dreading going to the surgeon, as i am worried about what he will say to me. I will keep you informed.
I ride pillion, we own a honda 1100cc cbr super blackbird...top speed 186 mph!!! We have all the matching leathers etc., I love the bike and the thrill of being on the back but do not have the confidence of riding myself. I am afraid i will drop it. We have had her 2 months and already done 3000 miles. We also have 2 other bikes a honda cbr 1000cc super sport of which my hubby uses for work, and an old Royal Enfield GT continental 250 cc.
So have you ever had a bike?
Diane x
Hi Diane
ianheavy Posted Aug 18, 2003
Hi,
Sounds like you had a great time!
I used to be heavily (little pun, not intended) into bikes, mostly of the era of your Royal Oilfield as we called them! I helped rebuild an ex John Surtees Crusader, didn't go to badly for an ald single pot 250!
I used to have Triumphs, although my first bike was an odd one, a 600 cc Panther, could just about wheese up to sixty, put could tow a caravan!
I later got into highly tuned Japenese dirt bikes and had a Suzy RM 250, but was always breaking something, still seventy miles an hour on the dirt was reasonably exciting! Straw bales are not soft though!
Unfortunately my body looks like a roadmap, that is, it bears witness to my motorcycle career! I do miss the fun! I've gone a bit the other way (no not that way, Nige is still safe) and gone low tech! I'm sick of my new cars breaking down! We bought a Morris Minor Treveller, we're teaching our children to drive with it! However, I took it to a friends garage for a service the other day (I'm a lazy git, it wouldn't take that long to do it myself, but I make the excuse I wanted a second opinion on a few bits of it), anyway while there Heather (my wife) spotted an MG Midget in British Racing Green, absolutely immaculate, so she's started negotiations. It's a good job we've got a large drive, that would be five cars then!

This is the list of bikes we have had see if any of them brings back any memories for you....1979 Maico,1980 Maico, RM250Z water cooled 1982, KTM 485 1984, RM500 1984*,TS250 old t reg, D175MX 1980*,250 Suzuki X7, Honda VT 250, Suzuki GSXR750 Slingshot,Ducati 900SS Supersport, Honda Blacbird*, Triton in bits...sold in bits, and our old Royal Enfield GT Continental*, the ones with the * were or are my husbands favourites. So as you can see we have had a fair few in our time. My husband has quite surprised me that he can remember them all.
It seems to me that many riders are not as young as they used to be, everybody seems to think that the majority of riders are young but that is not the case now, many are our ages and even older. This may be due to the increasing insurance prices...and the fact that many young lads want to drive...or attempt too like my son!!! Whom has wrote off 3 cars since the end March!!! Arghhhhh Diane
Hi Diane
ianheavy Posted Aug 19, 2003
Well a coincidence here, I had a TS250 too. Ever so relaxing to ride on the dirt, I put it down to the long wheel base, which meant the saddle wasn't smacking your backside all the time. We'd had the knive and fork out on it and raised the hp a bit! not as quick as the RM, but it used to surprise people riding 500 Yams. I had a few bitzas, always fancied a Triton. I never really got into Japenese bikes, with the exception of the Suzys. Misplaced patriotism perhaps. I remeber stripping down a 250 Honda and was amased to find the bottom end better engineered then my Triumph TR6 (no not a car, the ike had the same name)!
i could never get on with full face helmets. I had to source an open face one carefully as there was only one made that was ACU approved. This gave me another skill, I became expert at sifting insects out in my teeth! That's where those calories came from!
Can't keep up with you today, I 've just replied to the other thread!

Well then Ian i have had a look in my cal book and i can't find the cal content of any type of flys, but look at the size of some birds and maybe thats where your weight problem started!!! Luckly i have a full faced helmet, its a taz one, i may look a little stupid in it but hey i don't care. It was the only one that would fit as it seems i possess a small head!!! Others would disagree im sure.
We are going to the lake district in two weeks with some of our biking pals. I am not into camping as i have done enough of that in my time so we are staying b and b. Diane xxx

Now I am jealous, the lake and biking! H and I had our honeymoon at the Sharrow Bay overlooking Ullswater! Absolutely wonderfull, we married early spring, the days were sunny and the mountains still covered in snow! I took her out sailing on Windermere, but she's not a great sailor! Still i enjoyed it! I doubt whether she would ever get on a pillion seat either! The passenger or driver seat of a Ferrari (must work harder), but I'm not allowed a Lotus! (Stand for "Lots of Trouble Usually Serious")
When I left school I spent a summer at the Eskdale OB and Mountain Rescue Post! Boy I was fit then!
Malc probably wants the pure 350 or 500 single! I always liked parallel twins, so want the A10 engine, this will probably mean nothing to you, but will to him! You must have an excellent memory be able to remember that amount of bikes!
Have a good time, are you moving around or staying in the same place!

Morning Ian, so how are you today. Sorry i went quiet yesterday forgot to tell you i had work.
My car has gone in for repair today the speedo has gone, which is not good news as we are going to see my dad in Norwich, and there are more speed cameras there than cars! So she is in to see if she can get fixed.
We live in a really nice brand new house , all the neighbours are snobs...except for us, we have the oldest cars on the drive, but i don't care if we had new ones then we wouldn't have the house.
So where abouts in Notts are your clients then, i know most of Notts as i travel around with my job. How often do you pop up to my neck of the woods? quite literaly i am virtualy sounded by woods and forest.
chow for now Diane xxx
Hi Diane
ianheavy Posted Aug 20, 2003
Hello Diane, I am in brilliant condition today, but i did have a few to many carbs yesterday! Norwich is famous for some other stats too, 52 churches and 365 pubs! Its probably just the cable, and providing its not a Merc the costs of your cars repair will be quite cheap.
Its fairly irregular that I go up to Nottingham as I can do a lot of my work by electronic means! I have three clients in Nottingham city centre one in Mansfield and two on the outskirts of Nottingham, one south one north. I also have a few in Derby which isn't very far away either!
I now live in a car park! When we moved to our town it was half the size it is now! My house is quite unusual in that its right in the town centre, but does have a large garden. We live pretty close to the station, which has started to charge for it parking, so all the commuters form the new estates which saren't easy walking to the centre, park all over the place, including around my house. I have to be really careful pulling out in the mornings as their brains are not on their driving, but probably the next train time!
I do have a few trees in the garden though! But nowhere near as many as Sherwood! So do you wear green tights? How are with the arrows?
