Cheers, Di. I do worry sometimes about the advice I give as I don't know the person I'm advising. I hope CP is O.K.

Hey Nige, don't worry chick, what you said was right. As long as you try to help i am sure any person with an ed will understand.

Hi Nige,
No worries, the apple juice in itself wasn't a prob, just the fact that it might make me sick - sounds a tad extreme. Have to say I haven't tried it yet but who know's I may do soon. One of the many unpublisised negative effects of a low fat diet I reckon, certainly makes the Atkins WOE seem somewhat appealing
I have to say while I can get on here - for some reason have had mega PC probs the last few days - that your advise on the N&F website is fantastic for so many people. I've stopped posting on there tho I never posted much but I still read it - you always seem to have help to offer which is great.

The irony is that the gallbladder problems occur whilst on the very-low-fat diet, but the pain/nausea is caused when fat is eaten, as that's when the gallbladder needs to do its stuff and can't. So fat gets the blame!
As for Atkins, I'm luvvin' it, luvvin' it, luvvin' it. I have a huge appetite (I don't know whether you read about my monster brekkies) and med-protein, med-fat, low-carb suits me down to the ground.
I'm glad you're enjoying my posts. I do try to research everything I type. Hopefully, if I make a cock-up, someone will put me right.
Cheers, Nige xXx

You're luvvin it like that huh? It certainly works for you and alot of others which is fab - the battle seems to be finding something that both works for you and you enjoy. I think my main concern with Atkins is not the diet itself but the way it's treated - as in it seems (tho I could be wrong) that alot of people jump on the band wagon for the induction as it offers dramatic weight loss but once they've achieved that it's back on the carbs and they start to yo-yo diet which as we all know is bad news. Mind you, you could actually turn that argument to low fat diets too minus the induction bit.
At the end of the day tho, who really cares as long as we are all happy! One thing both diets agree on tho - no

Exactly! I think Atkins didn't do himself any favours with the induction phase. Many people and Doctors, bless 'em, think that induction IS the diet. I didn't do induction. It's a kick-start, but some people find it a bit too much of a kick - keto-breath, headaches, constipation etc. I never had any of that and my fat just disappeared gradually.
Some of it came back when I got sick with secondary hypothyroidism, but now I'm receiving treatment for it, the fat's going again.
Any crash-diet or quick fix is a bad idea as it is unsustainable.
Good luck with your eating, anyway.

P.S. and very little too, until Splenda-ised choc arrives on the shelves!
P.P.S. I'm working on a cake recipe using a special type of flour that we Atkinsites can eat. When I've perfected it, I'll let you all know.
