I read your journals... Hope you feel better soon. There seem to be a lot of mysterious illnesses these days: Chronic Fatigue, and fibromyalgia can sometimes be misdiagnoses for systemic fungal infections. Lupus is an awfully sneaky condition as well. I hope they give you a proper diagnosis and effective treatment soon.

I was trawling through some old posts and came across this one.

Now I don't mean to sound ignorant - but I am going to...... What is a systemic fungal infection? Is that the same as athlete's foot, or mushrooms on the lung, or what?

Leaving all nasties aside, how are you these days? I haven't posted to my journal for ages, must think about that. I am just proud of myself for still being at work!! Last year I never thought I would get back to work again, but here I am.... granted only working at half capacity, but managing to fool the managers into thinking I am doing the whole job as usual.

However, having said that, I had better put in a bit more time on the admin now or they are going to suss me!

Candida Albicans, also known as a yeast infection, and the cause of thrush can develop in the digestive tract and the blood stream. The symptoms are very similar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. A quick google search will yield plenty of results...most of which I can't post links to because they are commercial sites.

Dr. Jordan Rubin has written a book titled "Patient Heal Thyself". The book is very interesting, it is his personal story of how at the age of 19 he was the picture of health: Attending college in Florida, taking a full load of classes, and a male cheerleader as well. Suddenly, he fell ill for no apparent reason. It took a couple of years for him to recover. He finished college, and medical school, then founded the company Garden of Life.

I'm doing okay, not too many complaints.
