hi weapons...i'm not an ACE or anything, just saw your name in the 'Who's online' box and thought i would send greetings from a hot and humid country to a hot dry one.

...sorry, hot AND humid here, i'm in Florida.
hasn't it dried out yet where you are??
here's a tip, which you probably already know, but clicking on someones name, the orange letters at the head of each posting, will take you to that persons 'user space' where they may, or may not give you some clue as to their origin, location etc.

Re Tip - I'm a newbie at h2g2 so still got my training wheels on. thanks though.
Re: weather - they couldn't find Noah so the water stopped after 48 hours thank goodness - incredible damage and quite a few lives lost.
Re: beer . yep lots of it in fact. Oman is one of those conservative countries with a liberal attitude - bit like the US in some ways
We get special licences to buy off-sales (UK expression?) and there are loads of bars in the bigger cities. and 
are v expensive though. The Moslems are not supposed to imbibe but some of them do. So it's a fairly relaxed place.
