Luckylucky man to know your anticedants. I envy you more than you'd realise. I envy anyone homegrown. I'm a me. No idea of ancestors, but suspect I have some form of aisiatic ancestory - I feel an empathy with the samurai codes, although with a "preciouslowermiddleclas" british upbringing, with all the weirdness that tat could entail, the incompatabilities were huge... also relte well to celtic ideals.Often mistaken for being dark welsh. Phychic friends have called me a Pchsycic Warrior. I'll fight for justice anyway I can, but have been so battered so early on in life that physicalco-ordination is impossible (chi just doesn'tco-ordinate for me, and I'm at an impasse as to that side of developement in this life.)
Envy isn't the right word. Its wistfulness. Romance conquers all, yes, but so far with me personally I've allied myself unwisely.(though I do extricate myself once I realise it!) Or have had absolutely no choice because duty has to come first. Duty. An odd concept for this society. It'll probably make sense to you.

Be back on after Noon. Liam(Son no1) needs the PC Once I've checked the bank statement I think I will be brave and organise broadband.
Or try to. I wish I could think clearly.

Then there are very very few about who understand the concept - and even fewer who practice it. Even though I'm so tired I can't remeber the response,I think I've always tried to do that. GG Jack, but do emalil.,# Will be awake enough in the morning to make some sense again...bfn

G'day Jack,
How's tricks today?
Me... still hassling the PTB...
Oh the joys of shopping. Son no 1 is quite willing to do the job -but alas, he cannot weild a cheque card, and *I* cannot actually tell him what to get, because I need to see whats on special, and which bit of fruit is decent and which bit is manky, etc etc. And also, it's a case of "H'mmm - do I WANT to eat this?"
So I persyked meself up, donned the lumber support, quaffed some extra painkillers..... grabbed the stick and lurched firstly with him to:
The Green Grocers, where I chose the fruit and veg (he carried it, looking horribly self conscious!) and obviously paid for it. Thats a total of around 150yds there and back.
It took half an hour at the speed I can currently walk.
Then the major works, El Super Market. This, after an hour's sit down from the rigours of the Greengrocers! Distance there? 200yds, if that.
I don't need to draw a picture, really, do I?
You've got to laugh at the dreadfulness of the situation, really Jack.
You'd cry if you didn't!
But we got the freezer stocked up even if it DOES involve a lot of processed stuff for once.
And frozen raspberries!
Sorry; I think I'm wittering a bit here. I'll shut up! Tell me about your day!

You need a piggy back (me first though, 'cos i'm feeling lazy today) to the shops. Apart from the fresh stuff, can you shop on line ? Iceland do home deliveries, which might help the situation, and sure a lot of other places could help. Me, working today- nowt unusual there. I have no life !

Never even THOUGHT about on line shopping - tho being a technoduffer I'll probably end up starting off half a dozen accounts and forgetting me passwords.....
Well done that man.
(And I can solve the "How the hell do I set up a Tesco thingummy" question - Sue the Computor says she'll call in at the weekend and she's got one, so I expect she'll show me how to set up mine.)
I wouldn't shop from Iceland.... I used to work there!!!!
All joking aside, I'm rat sick of ready meals, but the boy's repetoire, although excellent, is very limited on "real" food....
I shouldn't moan really - at least they remember to feed me!

I think I'd settle for a doubleseated wheel chair..... preferably wiv knives, like Old Hamish'!

ALPHA-MALE Posted Apr 29, 2005
Or Windle Poons.....
Lots of 'super'markets are doing the online thing; be dead easy to set up, andfor the durables at least it should be ideal. Packets, tins, non-edibles like cleaners, stuff whose quality is a standard, all of which make up the shopping bulk, will be an ex-problem. fresh meat and veg will be all you need concern yourself with. Check it out when the bandits.... sorry, the boys, want the pc. Supposed to be easy to set up !

I feel like Poon's grandma today, I do really! (though where I'm going to find one at this time of the day.....)
Thats a really good idea.... just as long as there's a doodah on the list that tells them to improvise with a set budget - so if I've said 2 pax of beans and then they find there isn't enough in the kitty for the sell by bargains that'll come in handy as the 7th meal of the week, etc etc....
The System may be terribly simple (tho watching Liam trying to juggle the veg into the plastic carrier bag was tragic.... I've obvioulsy not managed to pass on any dexterity genes to him..., but I have no doubt whatsoever I shall manage to cock it up. I'm only lucid for very short burst of time. Right this minute, I just hurt like buggery.
Possibly later on, I shall have to give up and admit that I can't manage to do anymore for the day and go back to kip.
But I can't relax until I can get someone in to keep the house clean and organised... and the boys in line with a judicial clip round the lugs. (I've been asking my GP and all the other PTB for nearly 3 weeks now to get some help in. I'm still chasing.)
That's why, although they're AWFUL at most domestic stuff except tea brewing, neither of my bandits are on drugs, beating up old ladies or have a curfew tag.
Well... put it like this. I'm fairly confident on 2 out of those 3 criteria!

They're men now. I'd serve with them. Times like this shows the quality of a man. They may be scared and confused, but they are DOING it. No too many you can say that about these days. (Salutes). Know what you mean about the 'being there' aspect- mark downs and sales keep the budget afloat. However, Iceland is big on bargains and offers, so it may be worth looking into. They have filled my fridge cheaply more than once. Bullet-biting time ?

Been biting bullets for so long now it's virtually habit!
I can hold on and keep going because thats what has to be done!
(Although just occaisionally I think to myself... Cooo, wouldn't it be nice not to *have* to all the time? Then I wake up again!)
Iceland arn't too bad ashley. There isn't one round here local enough to deliever tho. But I'll improvise. I'm good at that.
And yep. At least one of 'em's a "man" He's doing his best and he's willing to try, you cannent odds it, really.
(And when the 2nd one comes back from school (altho I know bloody well he's been truanting today because the school rang up and told me) I shall blister the little bugger's ear'oles AGAIN and do the "Responsibilty lecture!!!
I'm a horrible mum.... but it seems to work.... some of the time. But it frightened them when I was so weak I couldn't move.
It frightened me, too.
I've never ben this feeble in my life.... honest!

I am there. Not much bloody use at this range, but sometimes an ear is as good as an arm. Take mine whenever you need it.

Moving On Posted Apr 29, 2005
Sometimes it is. Tho I do hate whinging all the bloody time.
I just wish I'd stop bloody hurting and some b****d would provide me with a bit of practical help and support!
I swear to god, I think you'd have to be dead before The System finds you, or so beyond help society would HAVE to call in The Experts to clear up the mess.
Caring Society?
Where!?
Oooh! I just missed it.
Stomp stomp stomp.
(S'OK, I'm off me soap box now)
Where's "this range?" then? Was I right about the Liverpudlian bit?

Kentish, on the coast. Can hit a seagull at 40 paces, just as long as the damned things stand still!
If you lurk on posting 2 of "By the time you're reading this" you'll have a good idea as to how close to the sea I am! (And there are some genuinely nice folks there, too. No hidden agendas.Just relatively normal - well except Tef, and she's just like planet Earth.....she's still AWOL)
