Ee us'd ta dream of Yorkshire lassies! Now't like gradely folk!

Ian!!

Sorry I didn't reply yesterday, I didn't expect anyone to post me a message so soon! And I'm very glad you got there first too!!

You've been very quiet on the NF board lately, are you just lurking on there and not posting? I'm really getting bored of it to be honest, I can't even be bothered to argue with people anymore, I think I have conflict fatigue.

So now that I have you here, how's you? how's things? Had any nice cakes of late??!

Hello Ruth, well I do read the other board, but I haven't had any questions to ask recently! I'm still digesting (groan) the advice given and have not yet put it all into practise!

I of course read your posts enthusiastically! Infact I'm not looking forward to a stand up row with you, but one day hope to have an upright one!

I was out and about yesterday, didn't make it quite as far north as you, I was in Derbyshire, Notts and Liecestershire! The air condidtioning packed up on the car, and it's got leather seats. I had to peel myself off the seat when I got home, yuk!

It was the weekly BSG (Beer Support Group) meeting last night, and while my chums drained my barrels I drank carbonated spring water!

Jane baked one of my favourite cakes for it, Lemon Drizzle! I sat and watched the cake being demolished! I had a sniff of the cake tin!

I'll be leaving to see a client soon, work does get on the way of posting! Mind you with a wife, two teenagers and a mortgage, I'm glad I've got some. One of the BSG members was issued with his redundancy notice yesterday!

I got a bit of a telling off from the members as the minutes have gone down hill a bit! I'm the secretary! Trouble is I've lost my enthusiasm while not drinking the stuff! Still good news free tickets for the Peterborough Beer Festival. The biggest beer fest in the provinces. Some beer I helped brew (well photographed chucking the hops in) will be there!

So there you are. I hope this fatigue doesn't last too long, I'm looking forward to a few robust posts. Why not tell me something about your non H and N interests! We may find something to disagree on! I have done the odd silly post in reply on the other board, but there is a heck of a scope here for inetersting topics, if only I could write them! Big E has written some interesting stuff, mostly form a personal view point!

Well Syonara!

Blimey, you do get about a bit don't you!!! I did make it as far as Stratford upon Avon earlier in the year with work, but that's about as glamourous as it got!

That's awful about your AirCon, for once I'm actually glad to be at work as it's such a nice cool temperature, last night was awful. Couldn't sleep for the heat, think I may have to move to cooler climbs! Speaking of which I'm currently having a bit of a funny turn about moving, the problem is I've found this absolutely great flat in a lovely part of London, it's fantastic and I didn't think I'd be able to find something so nice. Problem is, I'm really anxious about it all.

I haven't lived on my own for a few years and the thought of shouldering all the responsibility of it is giving me the willies. It's odd cos I'm not a chicken most of the time, but as I'm going it alone paying such a lot of rent I'm worried that I won't be able to afford it really! I've done a budget and the numbers add up ok, but I really am rubbish with money! It's going to be tight until payrise time though.

Anyway, enough whinging. It's a lovely, lovely flat, with a swimming pool, gym and sauna/spa as part of the complex. My living room faces the river so I'll be able to do Yoga in the mornings looking at something nice, instead of at the moment, a bus stop and a chippie.

so you asked about interests outside of arguing on the NF board? Well I'm a keen course taker, I did a sculpture course last year and I also learnt to scuba dive. This year it's been drama courses, which I've really enjoyed. I like a bit of drama, me. (Like you didn't already know!) Anything you can disagree with there??

The flat sounds fantastic, but won't the queue at the Fish and Chip shop miss their view of you and your yoga. If I could get in the lotus position there would be so much tension in my legs, that if they accidentally sprung apart, I'd probably kill an inocent passer by!

A girfired of mine many years ago said I was a gregarious person! I was lucky my wit and social skills served me well when I lived in hotels (araound eleven years) as I hated being alone for even odd nights! But thats me, I don't like my own company, but its probably not as good as yours. Anyway I've written a poem immortalising your cyber alter ego! i hope you enjoy it! Its about the standard I usually write! Pretty bad!

You can access it either directly at A1140481 , or through the Lost Poetry Office page.

Glad you liked it! I started writing poems about a year ago, after one of the ladies in then cake circle bought me a poetry book! They are normally on matters beer, and have been until recently exclusively read on Wednesdsays for my fellow imbibers. Some of the other chaps have now written some poems too! So watch it, it's contagious!

Got to fly, picking up one of the world's most expensive cars. I thought when I bought it, I bought and paid for the lot of it. Seems I still paying subtantial installments for more bits!
