You like Outlaw Star? I thought I was the only on eon this site. Man, why did they have to axe it? *Gets misty-eyed.* Ahem... I haven't seen Yu-Gi-Oh! in the unedited version, but I've heard about it. Why do people feel they have to edit everything? Seriously, no one cares, y'know what I'm saying? My friend also told me about Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's a crime that that never made it out of Japan.

Hay sorry I didn't write back to your post it was a mix of forrgeting my login name and obbsesive Zelda playing ^_^
I know it is such a shame why they took off Outlaw star the program was excelent, but all CNX have on now are Sports Illastrated (gag, gag!) and Kong fu movies! where's the animé? All they have is Gundam Wing (which I'm not complaining about but it was on before OLS and CB-BB and now it's on toonanmie or however you spell it) Tench and Dragon ball Z/GT (which I could live without). And the worst thing is they don't have any plans to bring OLS or CB-BB to DVD over here, how much does that suck? Why the hell not?

No problemo, got Zelda myself and it kicks ass. Some of the Kung Fu movies are very good, by which I mean the ones with Jackie Chan, the others are iffy to say the least. I first started watching CNX for Gundam Wing, but then fell in love with the Outlaw Star and Spawn. Speaking of Spawn, that's bloodier, more violent, and has more cursing and sex than most animé, and yet it gets on unedited? What's up with that? If there's nothing wrong with that, why do they have to edit the Japanese stuff, which is a lot more 'suitable for kids.' I was thinking of starting a campaign for unedited animé across the internet, wanna join me? Also, I never saw the last episode of Outlaw Star, did you and if so what happened?

Hi yeah I'll join you on your campain, the world needs GOOD, UNEDITED animé lol.
Yeah I saw the end (b4 they axed it, grrrrrr) If I can remember they got to the Galatic Layline and Melpina was the Madien of the Layline
(I really saw that coming) and they were battleing this guy with their spirits I think (I must warn you that I saw it at 2 in the morning when I was very tierd and half asleep so sorry about the bad detail) and they won, then Gene made a wish I think for Melfina and him to be together, then Gene got thrown into prison for something and he had his head shaved into a cru-cut style, v.funny/ wierd and Gene and Melphina said something to each other they left with the others in the Outlaw star. Really sorry for the very vague discription. I know I watched Spawn once and I thought "How the hell could an over sensitive country like America have this on, it's way to gross and violent for them?"
I have to make a confesion though I got scared of it and didn't watch it again lol. They probbaly let it pass because it's American, they are kinda bias like that but like I say they do have their good points, like actually bringing us animé, I think if it were up to England we would be saying "wot???????" if someone said animé to us. Yeah I also don't get why Japanese kids can take violence and western kids can't? Is it like a gene they have which westerners don't? well I guess all us people who apriceate animé have it no matter where we're from.

Click here to join the campaign: A1077473 . So far I'm the only member. I admit spawn is scary at times, but if you can handle it, it's actually really good. Personally I think the Japanese government may be more enlightened that the American one, as they figure there's no point in shielding kids from stuff they're going to expreience anyway, but the Americans don't see it that way. Still, you have to admit that even edited, animé is much better than most western stuff.

Yeah western stuff really does sux. I actually feel pysically sick when I see it, It's probally because it's so sickly sweet and everybody is friends, and the moral of the story is play safe and be nice to everybody, Forget that! what if I wanna be a bitch to someone who's pissing me off ya know? The sky isn't blue all the time, hell, it's hardly ever blue any of the time. But it's like they don't give kids any credit. They think by wrapping them in cotton wool and showing them programs like rescue heros (I did actually throw-up when I saw that program, ew they had a 'stay safe and dail 911 for your local police department' message at the end, this is the effect bad shows have on me lol) that they are going to grow up all nice and happy and find the perfect wife who cooks and cleans and bakes cookies for there identical blond hair, blue eyed children (oh man I feel sick, lol)I'm just like yeah whatever, um your kid might turn up to be an alcoholic rapist, but I guess they would probbaly blame it on one eppisode of animé that the kid watched when he was 10 and never saw any animé again, but they would still blame that because American show are so good moraled and pink and fluffy and educational.
It was Pokémon that first ever got me introduced to animé, when I was 13 so I haven't been an animé addict since I was 5 or sumthing, but what I 'm getting at is that Pokémon was alot of peoples taste of animé, and even though Pokémon was so badly dubbed and edited, it was something new, but most adults wrote it off straight away because kids loved it, and it was not American or English, and it must be the anti- crist because of it! When I hear these people talking about animé like that I just wanna burst out laughing, thinking 'don't they have something better to do then diss animé?'. Oh and I read about all the people in America who are trying to ban the edited version of Yu-Gi-Oh! because it is the anti-crist and sac-religios, but I'm like 'you wanna ban the edited version?', HELLO! that program is ssssoooo edited that it's bacically an American cartoon, not an animé. But to those people who said that, I say this: yes it is actually really sarditstic and has things to do with religion, they have crosses, god, this and god that (not in a 'we love god' sorta way) Death, souls, sacrificing and stuff like that, and hello has anybody in this whole world but me noticed the bondage and nakedness?

Y'know, people actually complain about shows not being religeos enough, but if what I've heard of Evangelion is true, they also complain when they're >too< religeous! Ok, I passed what I'd heard about it to my sister and she though it might be blasphemous, what do you think? What I don't like about Yu-Gi-Oh! is that at one point, a guy says 'Welcome to america' to Ishizu, and here I was thinking the whole show was set in Japan! Well, I still think that, and if Digimon (sorry) can be in Japan, why not Yu-Gi-Oh!? even edited, most names would never be found in America, so I think you see where this is going. Seriously, enough is enough!

Vampire Princess

Hi sorry I haven't written back it's because my sis is a diabetic and she hasn't been feeling well lately so I have had to take care of her.
I really don't find Evangelion religious at all to be honest, but then again I'm not really religious. I know the Yu-Gi-Oh! dub always puts me in a bad mood because of all the name changes, and stuff, for instens Ishizu's name isn't Ishizu, it's Isis (I guess they must have thought that was TOO religious), here are all the name changes or miss spelt names:
Yugi Moto - Yuugi Mutoh
Yami Yugi - the Nameless Pharaoh
Joey Wheeler - Jounochi Katsuya
Tristan Taylor - Honda Hiroto
Téa Grundler - Anzu Mazaki
Mai Valentine - Mai Kujaku
Solomon Moto - Sugoroku Mutoh
Bakura - Ryou Bakura
Serenity Wheeler - Shizuka Katsuya
Maxamillion Pegasus - Pegasus J. Crawford
Rex Raptor - Dinosaur Ryusaki
Weevil Underwood - Insector Haga
Mako Tsunami - Ryouta Kajiki
Bandit Keith - 'Bandit' Keith Howard
Duke Develin - Otogi Ryouji
Marik - Malik Ishtar
Ishizu - Isis Ishtar
Odeon - Lisid
Those are the ones that come straight to my mind but I know there are LOADS more names they have changed. Some completly baffle me I mean Bakura only has one name in the dub (wot is he trying to be like Madonna or something?), and how do you get from Otogi to Duke? or Honda to Tristan. I kinda makes you wonder about the dubbers sanity. I mean these people actually sit in an office and discuss this, and come up with those names? I mean Odeon? Odeon!? that's the name of the God damn cinema for crying out loud. But what really did it for me today was the eppisode where (I'll use the American names since it was the dub) Joey and Yami are dueling while being tied to and anchor, the thing that really anoyed me were the clips between episodes, the really anoying evil (suposidly) noise when the brain washed characters talk, and the fact that so may things were cut. Kay but there was this one thing that really got my goat, a part when Jounouchi summons this magic card (I don't follow the card game coz I don't like it) and like fire balls rain on top of the Pharaoh and it does direct damage, now in the original it hits the Pharaoh and he, he is engulfed in fire, screams in pain, he losses his jacket because of the force of the hit, his eye lids are all black and stuff, and then Jounouchi talks and the Pharaoh is still smoking, but in the dub they just showed Joey summoning the card the Téa going "Yugi!" in her anoying dub voice and a small scream. Uh, hello you've just been hit with blazing fire balls, you can be in a bit more pain than "arr!" in the Japanese version it was soemthing like " AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and it looked like it bloody hurt. If ya go to www.Milleniumpower.com they have some Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! clips and it's got the one where the Pharaoh is hit with the fire balls, and you can see just how crap the dub version is

Woah. Man, why does the violence have to be removed? I mean there's an episode of Bugs Bunny where Bugs kills a bunch of gangsters with a submachine gun, and it's not like the normal cartonn death where they're not really dead or they go to Heaven, these guys were just dead, gone, bloody. Come on, of four-year-olds can watch that, why not big kids? Now, I don't like it, but you can remove the cursing and not change the story much, but seriously, eveyone knows what a gun is, what it look lik, what it does and is used for, and how it works, plus everyone has seen blood at some point, so whay is all this removed form animé? Stil, it could be worse. Disney could be doing the editing. *Shudders.*

Lol maybe it would be a good idea if Disney did dub it, I mean sure their cartoons sux, but they couldn't do any worse of a job than 4 kids did, and I mean no one! Also they did dub Spirited away which won an Oscar so they couldn't have done that bad a job.
Oh BTW I e-mailed Pioneer and asked them if they were gonna release Cowboy be-bop and Outlaw star in the U.K,.........no reply so far, maybe their just too lazy to release it in England. Why is it that Anime and Manga isn't as popular here as it is in America? I mean me and my friends Daryl and Cory went to Blockbusters to rent DVD's for our "stuff ur self stupid with junk food and loadz of anime" day but when we went in there was only, Akira the movie, Blood the last Vampire (which I've seen), Metropolis, Princess Mononoke and the crappy dub ones like Bayblade, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon stuff like that, I mean wot's that about? In Blockbusters in America you would get like a section of the store devoted to it (well that's wot my friend said). No body seems interested in releasing anything over here, actually I'm gonna make that a diary entry. So we had to make deal with my 4 anime DVD's and their tapes and DVD's. It's not fair we're always the losers when it comes to anything I like. When it comes to games we get everything last because they have to translate in every other European country imaginable, why can't we just have an American port and the rest can wait, it's not our fault they don't speak English and we can! We normally get it 9 months to a year after the Americans do, why can we just have there translation? Sorry I'm just in a ranting mood.

I am an American Anime fan, and I feel I have to correct your statement about our video stores having tons of anime. The truth is that most of our videop rental places don't have a great deal of anime either. But it is true that our entertainment stores, like Sam Goody have an entire section devoted to anime

Thanx for clearing that up for me but it's just that I do get frustrated because we never seem to get anything and it just seems unfair that I'm a huge anime fan and I can't get the stuff I want without changing my DVD player and ordering from Amazon, so it would frustrate anyone knowing they have to do all that just to get the stuff they want, ya know? But this is wot my friend told me when he went to America, he said that there was tons and I was going off wot he said. Is it true that u have an anime channel? We should be so lucky to get anything like that. You also get manga like Shonen jump, they can't be bothered to print it in England. You are very lucky to live in America, I would give anything to live there and be able to get all the stuff I wanted, but I can't coz I live here, in the bleak England.

Well, If we have an anime channel, I don't get it. I watch most of mine on Cartoon network, they have two anime blocks, one of which is as close to unedited as they can get on network television.

Man, you are so lucky. The best we ever got was Gundam wing followed by Outlaw Star followed by Cowboy BeBop on CNX, which are great shows but have since been cancelled to make way for some s**t like Birds of Prey and The Shield. I heard that there was once an animé channel, but it got cancelled because ratings were too low! I guarabtee that if they tried that again, it'd be the most popular channel ever, especially if it was unedited. Oh, and my video store doesn't stock any animé AT ALL! smiley - martianfrown

If you look in the big HMV and Virgin Mega stores they have quite allot of anime there, that is where I get mine (it's just the lack of money which stops me from going wild in there). They have stuff like Evangelion, Nadesico, Gundam wing, and others like Blue gender and stuff like that, but if you go down the west end, to those music stores they have the best selections. Also if you look at Tesco.com they actually have a good supply of anime like Escaflown, Ah my Goddess and the ones that I mentioned before. But that would be so cool if they did an international anime channel, which would mean we wouldn't have to wait nearly a year of 2 for it to come out over here. All the anime we get is either from Sky one (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!,
Zoids) Fox kids (Digimon, Sailor moon (I think) Megabots? (I really have no clue about fox kids coz I really don't watch any of the kids programs) Cartoon Network (Beyblade) Nickelodeon (Yu-Gi-Oh!) and CNX (Tenchi, Gundam Wing, Dragon Ball Z/GT) But in September they are gonna change it from CNX to Toonami. I know Birds of Prey and The Shield absolutely sux, they replaced Outlaw star and Cowboy be-bop for those! And then they put on Sports Illustrated! (O.K maybe I'm the only one who has a problem with that ^_^) But still, and their gonna move it to all the kiddie channel's next to CTNW and Boomerang (This keeps getting better and better!)

The Anime I watch on TV is first on Cartoon Network's "Toonami" block (DBZ, YU YU Hakusho, Cyborg 009, and sometimes Rurouni Kenshin) and their "Adult Swim" (at the moment Big 0, Kikaider, Trigun, and Lupin III) It was MUCH better when they showed Yu Yu Hakusho, Inu-yasha, Cowboy Bebop, and Outlaw star.

Sports Illustrated sounds good if you're a heterosexual male, but in reality, it bites! Plus the animé girls were much better looking smiley - grr. Still, at least some of the Kung Fu movies are good. I live in Ireland where there is no HMV, there used to be a Virgin store near where I live but it's gone now, so the only way we can get real animé in Ireland is to import it directly from Japan, whcih sucks if you don't speak Japanese, which applies to pretty much everyone over here. Man, I would love to see an animé channel, or at least a channel that shows a lot of animé as it was meant to be seen, ie uncensored, though obviously there would have to be some editing in the form of the removal of scenes which give people seizures and Japanese words which don't exist in English.

What pisses me off the most in editing is that a baby can smoke a pipe in Popeye, but an 80 year old phychic can't smoke a cigarette in Yu Yu Hakusho, what is with that!!!

That's nothing, a bunny rabbit can kill gangster with a machine gn in Bugs Bunny but a computer program can't kill another one with a pistol in Digimon (smiley - sorry)?! Seriously, that's just wrong!
