No, not *that* sort of pen testing
The company's hired a security consultant to perform some penetration testing of the corporate network. There's an air of trepidation about the place. The last time they did this, the ethical hacker "pwned" the network in approximately 8 seconds, changed the company logo to a dead skunk, and managed to remove the CEO's trousers during a city financiers meeting without him noticing. This was all despite some pretty serious effort and many hours of overtime by the technical staff to prepare for the worst. We thought it was bulletproof. We were wrong.
And so we're anxiously awaiting the next slice of embarrassment.
Has anyone here been through this? And to your knowledge has anyone ever passed a pen test?

Our company does regular penetration tests and we're told that we pass them, but there are always recommendations and stricter security afterwards, which suggests that perhaps we did not.

Your information security team probably knows when to keep its mouth shut. Ours yelled the results from the proverbial rooftop.
