I'm tempted to submit 'ears' which has a good anagram for 'behind' only it only has five letters and there aren't any bones in the outer ear...

They're not just anagrams - one of the end letters is simply moved to the other end.
I'm now going through all the bones (plural) I can think of with 6 letters. Tibias, crania...
