Don't be intimidated by the size and scope of h2g2, it's one the friendliest places off of you could hope to be a part of. If some of the hootoo lingo leaves you a little confused, there is a handy page all about it @ A632431

Also Feisor's page @ A719840 gives you resource of tips and links that could be useful.

You may like to take the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.> for a more comprehensive description of how h2g2 works... You might find <./>DontPanic</.> very handy.

A great way of getting involved in the comunity here is by checking out <./>Askh2g2</.>

The 'Search h2g2' button is there so you can find guide entries by other Reseachers on a myriad of things. If there isn't one on something you know about or are interested in researching you may like to check out the Writing-Guidelines and set about creating one of your own

Thanks, sorry, I made one or two cock-ups! Posted an essey in a wrong thread, and gave a dubious link. I shall be more careful in future, being a child again (thanks to a stroke) I go through life like a rhino, but I learn fast and will obey the rules and also I hope give out pearls of wisdom.

Don't worry too much about any mistakes, tis all a positive learning experiance.
Posting to the wrong thread is a common enough mistake, as is being moderated under the current 'active moderation' and 'Iraq policy'.

I hope and am sure the community will benefit from your wisdom

Sorry, but some of the threads DESERVE flippiant replys, so we have succumbed to the temptation. BUT we will only show our sword to our fencing master, and our needle only to the seamtress.

Glad you're feeling your way out into the community.
Always keep the <./>HouseRules</.> in mind when posting to any conversation. There are certainly some heated debates to be had on h2g2, even the most peaceful of birds must choose it's battle grounds careful.
