Hi Adele. I've just noticed your bit about wanting to start your own Formula One team. A noble ambition, suggest you speak to Eddie Jordan, Peter Sauber, Jackie Stewart or that Minardi bloke for advise.
Not sure about Porsche though. Porsche have had a go at supplying engines in the past. I think the team was called 'Footwork' in the early '90s. It was not particularly sucessful. The engines were heavy and not powerful enough. It was said that Porsche didn't really understand what was required.
My thoughts would be towards TVR, Lotus or Subaru.
Don't think there are any specifically christian car companies.

BTW, it's going to be an interesting year.

Good choices, TVR Lotus, or Subaru. Lotus have had their own, team haven't they? So they might not want to get involved...
I'll certainly be watching events this year.
TVR are probably a good idea, as it would give them publicity they need.
BTW, I am signing off - might see ya again one day.

Indeed, I believe it does...

Empty Sky (Remember me fondly.) Posted Jan 11, 2004
It's very effective, though, and others have said they may copy it...

DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me! Posted Jan 11, 2004
Ooh, are they allowed to do that? (Copying, I mean.) Is that not unethical?

There are always ways around legal technichalities.

Hmmm... that there are... but, is it by coincedence, or regulation that all the 2003 season cars were virtually identical?

"is it by coincedence, or regulation that all the 2003 season cars were virtually identical"
Neither actually. It was mostly by design. The regulations decided the basic shape and size of the cars but, within those parameters, there was still a lot of design possibilities. However the teams came up with a design that gave them the fastest and most efficient car. They'll all say they painstakingly came independentally to the same conclusions, but that's bollocks. They copied each other.
Ferrari have threatened to sue Toyota for precicely that.

There's nothing about it in the news at the moment. But watch this space.

Indeedy do, good neighbour! What about that Justin Wilson, hey? BTW, what's 'open wheel racing'?
Forget Porsche.
Empty Sky (Remember me fondly.) Posted Jan 17, 2004
Open wheel racing is racing - like Formula one - where the cars are purpose built, with cockpits barely large enough for the driver and exposed wheels.
Apparently it's a totally different world from saloon car or sports car racing. Because the cars are designed specifically for racing.
I must check out the latest news on Justin wilson.

That's very sad.

Thanks, for the explanation. Poor old Justin Wilson is not allowed to be a test driver for Jaguar because he entered more than 6 Grands Prix, in the last 2 years, and Jaguar have dumped him as one of their drivers. (That info brought to you by Jimmy, who is sat at my side, and learned it from your BBC motorsport link...)

I think Jaguar should've kept Wilson as a race driver. He showed promise. They'll live to regret it.
They haven't half had some turkeys in their brief past (delaRosa, Pizzonia, Burti) why take a chance on another unknown?
When the results are not up to scratch, the teams tend to panic and change drivers. Toyota and Jordan are famous for it. So was Williams in the past.
