Just to let you know, my day wasn't much better. Having sat through work all day, struggling with peoples 'must do yesterday' attitudes I got home to find my girlfriend wasn't talking to me. Unsupprisingly, I have no idea why...
So it's time for another day, , hoping for a bit more luck today.

Afternoon BF!

I´m MD at a university hospital, presently supposed to have a "sabbatical" to finish my PhD. In reality it´s not that easy. The ties between the uni department and corresponding clinical department are very close, which are good and of mutual benefit mostly. The "unwanted side effect" is that doctors are assumed to work more or less full time at both departments always and at the same time...

The project I has to let go was a part of a large national quality assurance project, aimed to improve methods and standard procedures at county hospitals. It´s some ten other hospitals involved in "my project" and it´s a real challenge to get things to change. Many people have the opinion "we´ve always done like this", and don´t want -or dare? - to learn new stuff that actually would be beneficial for their patients. There are plenty of stubborn old goats out there...
