...in a beautiful, but somewhat ragged, red male cat. He is just over a year old and was adopted yesterday. He's a BIG boy even though he is very skinny and in bad need of a proper grooming. Affectionate and probably an opera singer to be I've never had a cat with that loud voice.
At the moment red and are glaring at each other. Her supreme Catesty seems to have Opinions concerning the young man's behaviour. That he is twice her size is completely irrelevant. It usually ends with red walking away. and haven't decided yet what to think about the new family member.

funny thing, i just printed some interesting posters from the "30th anniversary summer of love" when i saw your posting
I'm in love....
So you're all psychedelic now?
I'm a tad too young to remember the summer of love. However, my first died that summer.
The friend of mine who drove me to the remote village where I picked up red , fears I'll end up as an 80 year old lady with 20 cats...
Does acquiring four cats in four years really implicate that..?

my neighbour thought my was his
when we confronted her she just ignored us with majestic arrogance and walked away as if she had something better to do
of course she returned at dinner time
first at his house, then at mine

There is a photo of red at my blog. Link can be found in an earlier journal.
Cats are smart. I've heard of several cats having multiple homes like that.
Her Supreme Catesty and red still have not figured out if they enjoy each others company or not, so red was to sleep in the spare room this night. Last night I had to go up and make peace a couple of times. Anyhow, red had now figured out how to open the door, so his loud meows woke me up this morning, followed by most disgruntled growls from Her Supreme Catesty. Obviously red had said or done something she didn't approve.

we have a famous lyric in dk by our famous multi-genius piet hein. it reads something like:
little cat
little cat
little cat on the way
whose are you
whose are you
i'm my own

Things are getting better catwise in the Lair. Still a few outbursts of hostilities every now and then. makes shorter tours at floor level, but still prefers to keep an eye from higher levels.
They take catnaps in the same room, but with the safety distances kept. Red is a real Houdini . He manages to open doors that are not properly closed and he repeatedly takes away the cover to the draining gutter in the bathroom.
He is a large kittycat, so when he stretches out and stands on his hindlegs he has a perfect view of the working spaces in the kitchen. He glady volunteers to taste when I cook, and gets pout when he's not allowed to.
