Thanks for your kind reply to my journal posting. It's mainly this damned fibromyalgia has me so aggravated... but it helps to hear from people who've been there and still have risen above.

So how are you doing anyway? Are you working tonight, or at home?

I was at my midwifery job so only had a few minutes. I know you said you weren't looking for sympathy but I had to reply. I used to suffer with neck and shoulder pains a lot when I was younger. Looking back I think a lot of it was worsened by stress. Now I'm happier (mostly) It happens less often. Be Kind to yourself and accept offers of help or sympathy, they help lessen the load.

Not sure how much I'll be able to get online this evening... cable's out and I'm using roomie's machine for dial-up, can't seem to get it set up on mine. I know he'll give me crap but I'll keep my fingers crossed I can get back tonight!

I've just been enjoying a pot of herb tea and half a pack of cigarettes. I've missed it these last several weeks.

work tonight was fine. Only 45minutes to go now. I've done the usual of seeing people and treating them and failing to write about them. I only attended a lecture on Friday about the importance of good record keeping "if it is not written it didn't happen". It's much more fun chatting to my on line chums.
I did do some propper nursing though. Had to send a man to hospital by ambulance as he was ill, he's OK but has to stay in hospital a while for tests.
Have you not been smoking recently? I'm grumpy as hell if I don't have a few each day.

I'd actually given up smoking a while back but take it up again summers to keep from breaking down. Tonight, it's just relaxing me even more.

You're probably about to leave.. sorry about the stupid dial-up, but the cable will be back up tomorrow and I'll have more time to talk then. I'll look out for you and do my best tp prevent you from getting too much work done.

I'm here again. Not much going on at work, have just helped a friend join hootoo. He's really sweet and is known as billy60 (he's not actually 60!)

I'm not doing too bad today. It's rather humid and muggy, but not terribly warm, so I'm feeling okay. Made some nice steamed salmon and stir-fried veggies for dinner, and am now enjoying a lovely Aussie Chardonnay and some smokes. Feels good to be able to relax and do nothing again!

Should I mysteriously vanish and the reappear, it's because I'm still stuck on dial-up at the moment. Couldn't bring myself to miss half a day of work to get the cable modem replaced, it'll have to wait till Saturday. It's been connected intermittently over the past week and it's very frustrating, since I'm paying a good $60 a month for the service. I hope they'll credit me for this past week.

How's work going so far this evening? How was your day?

glad to hear you're relaxing. I like the sound of the chardonnay. I don't get chance to drink in the week. Working nights I don't drink before work in the evening and never fancy having one before bed at 9am in the morning. I make up for it at weekends though. I went to a barbeque on Saturday with my family and drank a fair bit. My younger sister and her children visited on sunday which was a rare event. We don't really get on, which is a shame as we were very close as children.
I had a rainbow trout from the market (I live in a costal city) for tea. it was yummy. I've just had my mealbreak here and had pizza followed by suet pud and custard, I can hardly walk now I'm sooo stuffed

Wow pizza AND custard? Culinary heaven!

My sister and I don't get on well, either, but we're civil these days at least.

I'm still a bit high from my trip to the Botanic Garden. As well as excited about someone really special coming over here from the UK next month.

The Botanic garden must have been a tonic. Plants are so full of energy. Who's coming to visit? Tell me more.

The garden was indeed therapeutic! I love being out in nature, it's so serene.

Actually, he's not just coming to visit, he's coming to stay! It's my good friend, Krispy! I'm really looking forward to it, he's an absolutely beautiful person and the best friend a person could ever dream of having.

Where in the UK is he from? How long is he staying? is it a long-term thing or just a holiday. I'm being very nosey, hope you don't mind

He's from Sussex, I believe. He's planning to come really long term- permanently even! I think it's wonderful, I miss him so much so far away and can't wait till he's here. You're not being nosy at all, I don't think. I just hope I won't embarrass him by speaking well of him publicly.

it wouldn't embarass me if someone spoke well of me in public. I live fairly close to him then, I'm from the south coast.
