Just thought I'd stop by... Have a mufflewhump!
How're you doing? I really thought I had a thread here...
Hi!
Meg Posted May 23, 2003
Thread? not really conversant with the lingo yet. I'm hanging out at AR1's party tonight. I'm dressed as a cobweb, see you there.

Timezones suck--by the time I can spend much time over at the party, I'll have tons of backlog, and by the time I catch up, people'll be offline... (I'm 8 hours behind you)
Hi!

Don't know if the party's in full swing yet. I had to leave to deal with a minor emergency. My daughter (aged 9) was badly bitten by her hamster and there was a fair amount of blood and tears to mop up. How are you doing? Have you stopped work yet?

I'm doing well I've got another hour to go... OK, I take that back. I was going to add 'with nothing to do except filing and waiting for phone calls' but then the phone just rang... So now there's about 40 minutes to go.
It's warm, and we just got an email that the A/C won't be running any more today because of a power failure

If you mean am I leaving to stay home soon, my last day that I'm planning on will be July 15. Of course, PaperBaby could have something else in mind

Amy, I haven't replied sooner but I only have limited acess to the PC. I get some time on Monday and Tuesday nights in my nursing job, and no time when I do my midwifery. My partner works from home as a programmer so is never off the thing, and I don't get a look in. Glad to hear you've not much longer to go at work. You are right about babies deciding when they'll be born. I saw you'd been buying equipment. Are you fully equipped yet?

I know you just have limited access, so don't worry about it. Noow, if you were on *constantly* and hadn't gotten back, it'd be different...
No, not fully equipped yet, but at least we've got what's necessary to bring the baby home. Though it wouldn't hurt to get at least a few diapers... But then again, there's talk of a shower pretty soon (I know that they're not common over there, but most brits at least know what I mean, so I'm assuming you do too...)
Anyway, I've an appointment tomorrow, so when you're on next week, you can pop over to U211555 to see how it went, if you want (Or are you already subscribed to PaperBaby's journal? I don't remember...)
I started clearing stuff off my desk at w*rk today, because I've been feeling a bit funny lately... I *think* I've been having false contractions--feels like menstrual cramps, lasts for half an hour or so, and the most I've had in a day is 4. Mostly telling you so I don't forget to tell my doctor tomorrow I hope they're false... Though I'm at 32 weeks, so I know survivability is very good... Sometimes I'm *too* well read though--I'm a known worrywart
Hi!

I'm a bit of a "worry wort" (I like it) myself. I've been worrying about a breast lump which was investigated today. Glad to say it was nothing to worry about.
As far as the cramps go don't worry but see someone if they don't subside when you lay down to rest, if they get more frequent or persist for quite a while. The uterus can produce quite strong practice contractions (braxton hicks we call them) which don't dilate the cervix. It could also be mother nature telling you to slow down a little as the physical demand on your body increases. I'm sure everything will be OK, but good luck at the 's anyway.
I think the baby shower sounds great fun. Shame we don't do it here. I will pop in next week to see how you are. I'm here for the next 3 hours but should be sending out appointments.

Braxton=Hicks! *That's* the name I was looking for before I gave up and just said 'false contractions'...
I'm glad to hear the lump was nothing serious--I'll pop over to your journal in a sec
