Aha, a mention of Cordwainer Smith! And from a fellow music lover! 
I'm still relatively new here, & thought I'd pop in on a few of the recent arrivals, to extend a welcome, & to offer a

, or whatever. Should mention that to use those icons (& many more), type smileys into the search window, that'll take you to a whole list of 'em.
There should be an Assistant Community Editor, or ACE along fairly soon to give you an official welcome & a few tips to make you feel a bit more 'at home' here. Feel free to visit my space, if you like, you'll find I've got fairly similar musical tastes (although I don't play an instrument 
.) And I suppose, let me know if you're having any trouble finding your way around at all. It can be difficult the first while, & although I'm not an expert by any means, I can ask a few friends for help. I'm sure they'd be pleased to lend a hand, so to speak. Adios *waves*
