Can I have some advice
Acid Override - The Forum A1146917 Started conversation Oct 23, 2004
I am giving serious thought to taking a leave of absence and starting my third year over again. It will cost me something in the region of £2,500.
The reason is that I've missed 2 weeks of uni due to an operation and am likely to miss another 2 weeks before there is a chance that I might be able to return. I'm talking to all of the right people (Welfare, Personal tutors, disability coordinator etc.) but I'm having trouble making the decision and need to get as much advice as possible. Obviously the decision does not need to be made until I am able to get back into the uni, but I like to have some idea of what is going to happen before it does.
Part of the problem is that I was only in the third year for a couple of weeks before the operation and it looked like more work than previously and I'm not sure I could catch up on a 4 week lapse. Can anyone whos at or has been at uni for their 3rd year give tell me if they think that they could have completed their course if they'd missed 4 weeks of an 11 weeks semester? Any advice on what I should do?
