"they are my views, and probably alot of others aswell, but i'm not here to argue,i was just stating a fact,i enjoy h2g2,and consider myself a hootoo'er just like the rest of us that remain.."
Exactly what i was driving at! I disagree with some of your conclusions and feelings, but why let a matter that has drifted into the past have any effect on the current and the future. Doesn;t matter what our respective opinions of that episode are since it has no bearing on us now
Glad to see you are still here, I remember you from back in that time so good to see the continuity!

I was thinking the same! I meant to include others but yours was the one I was replying to!
I think last time you were a tad drunk as well, and we've all been guilty of 'drunk in charge of a modem'
Me? Nice? No, I'm working hard on my grumpy old man act. Only 8 yrs till I'm 40 so need plenty of practice

When I was very little, must have been between 2 and 6, I actually wrote to the head curator of the natural science museum in london to ask him how to become a museum curator, cos that's what I wanted to do!
Get him to do the same, sure he'll love it. I got some of their colouring in books and a letter from his sec. telling me the best way was to make sure I studied hard.
Makes me smile now, what they must have thought when they received my letter at the museum!
Hope you are yours are all ok?
I find the problem at the moment on here is not finding a conversation, but finding one that isn't a radioactive from the fallout of various flame wars. Although it does make good reading. Like watching a soap I suppose ...

Hiya Ictoan
yeah thats alls i seem to be doing ,work, work, work, though i do manage to get out most weekends if i can,and do the the usual things like...drink loadsa booze, harrass everyone in sight, fall over ,drink more booze, then fall asleep on my pizza, then wake up with a severe hangover, and slices of pizza stuck to my bum,how they got there, well i haven't a clue
No i haven't managed to get to watch the movie yet, though ive heard people rave about it on here, and some friends tell me its rubbish.. i may just wait for it to be released on dvd.
Life's going okay for me at the min, which makes a change, and my little one is fine too,he's dinosaur/science/wildlife mad ,he teaches me a thing or two and he's only 6yr,far too clever for his own good at times
So what do you do for a living then??
I'm a single full-time mum of one ,and a full-time care worker,i support adults with learning difficulties,,(physical& mental health needs),i find the job rewarding as it's something iv'e always wanted to do,so its good, crap pay though, but it pays the bills and such.

For my sins, I work in IT. I am one of those to whom things get outsourced. Mainly internal databases. Currently advising a project on how to set up some new fangled supplier system. All incredibly boring to those who have no interest in databases and IT Although to be honest, the only reason I do it is because I enjoy problem solving, and boy do you get a lot of problems in IT!
Sounds like you are in a similar boat to my big sis. She works as a teaching assistant(?) or something with a particular lad who as autism at a school in her town.
To be honest, I dunno how single parents cope. It has been mentioned to me that you cope because you have to (!) but I can't keep up with kids even when I visit so having them non stop and holding down a job, hats off!
I guess it is easier when they are your kids and obey you.

I wouldn't mind working as a teaching assistant,I did do a chilcare course, with all intentions of working with children with learning difficulties, and i did do placements in schools,in which i absolutly loved, but i had to leave the course twice through no faults of my own,so i never got to finnish the course.
I'd still love to go into that kind of job,it would also be far better for me childcare wise, because i'd been in/off school when my little one is.
The job i'm in now is shift work in which i hate, somedays i'm up at 6:30am-3pm working, others i'm working 2:30pm-10pm,and nightshifts are 10pm-7:30am,,aswell as having to bring up my child, and do all the usual stuff when you have a house..shopping,cleaning,running round after everybody else,so i'm quite exhausted most days, and get minimal sleep.
But i try my best,it is hard at times, but i just get on with it,as i suppose anyone does.
My little one is no angel by all means,as i don't think any child is..,but he is a plesent, happy, clever, well mannered child ,and its all the way i'm bringing him up,or at least trying too.
Its all a learning process, and i probably learn something new everyday being a parent.
Now your kind of job i know jack sh!t about it,I'm totally crap when it comes to using computers, problem solving and that kind of stuff, this pea-brain of mine doesn't allow me to use the brain cell that ive got very much. to even think about things like that..so hats off to you for pocessing enough brain cells to do that kind of job
