Good grief - you actually CHOSE to live in the Yukon??? I always thought people who lived there had just been unlucky at birth and then couldn't find their way out cos of all the snow in winter and the scraggly pine trees that all look the same in the two weeks of summer.

Used to live in Thompson Manitoba - so don't worry, this is my honest opinion of the great Canadian North based on personal experience.

I hated it!!!!!

Well, it's true that the dogs are fine, though it sounds like you have more where you are than I had.

Anyhow, just popping in to say hello. You nutter! smiley - smiley

Thanks.
There was an article in the "Great Northern Lost Moose Catalogue" that said in effect if you chose to live up here maybe you didn't fit in down south, maybe people thought you were a bit odd. If not, a few months exposure to the Yukon will make sure you are.
I'm not commenting, just passing it on. I have a friend who came here from Toronto.
According to my local radio trivia Thompson is either the second or third coldest city in Canada. Whichever it is Whitehorse is the other one.
If you've been to the South Wales valleys you'll understand why I moved here.
If you do visit, say as the result of a head trauma, I'll be happy to show you around "the capital of Canada's True North". That's what they're saying on CKRW these days.
