So how are things in Reading, Pa?
I'm also one of the Assistant Community Editors(ACEs) here at h2g2. In my role as an ACE, I'm tasked with greeting newcomers to the site. I am also a native of Pennsylvania and have written a fair amount about the Keystone State on-site. You can check out some of the Pennsylvania entries at C119
I'm not sure exactly how you plan to accomplish your stated goal...
Is each student going to register with the site or will everyone share the same log-in?
If it's to be the latter, then anyone can edit anyone else's entry (which I can't imagine is something that you'd want).
Also, you might want to ensure that all your students are very familiar with the site's Writing Guidelines (A53209) and even English Usage in the Edited Guide (A266131), but the Guidelines page is much more critical. If a student's entry fails to meet the Guidelines, it's unlikely that it will ever appear on the front page of the site.
I'd love to see someone write an entry on the Pagoda or even on the VF Outlets. But obviously, whatever they write will be greatly appreciated.
This is a cool idea! Hopefully, it all works out really well and we can look forward to seeing a new batch of entries each semester.

Don't forget the Underguide, Jimi.
This is at Writing-Alternative and I think that entries will be able to appear on the <./>FrontPage</.> in the future.

Hey ZSF!
I didn't want to mention it because it's not a sure thing and if I were in college and pinning my grade on something, I'd want it to be 100 percet positive.
Following the Guidelines for the Edited Guide is the best way to ensure that an entry will appear on the front page eventually.

Yes the students are all going to register by themselves. My first student entry has been submitted (I'm told). It's called 'The Art of Shaving' but I can't find it. Any ideas?

Hi there Jackie,
I'm Flanker yet another <./>ACE</.> and I think you'll find the entry at <./>A978726</.>. I could be wrong but have a look see anyway.

Hey there Jackie, it's yet another <./>ACE</.>
You might want to add all your students to your "friends list", that way you can find them easily and people, when they come across this page, can find thier entries easily. To add someone to your friends list go to thier Personal Space (everyone's home page on h2g2) and click "add to friends"

Jackie,
It might be a good idea if you ask your students to supply you with the number of their atricle once they have written and submitted it. In that way you go straight to it. Just a thought.
