Adonis?
Posted Feb 20, 2003
Ooh fed up of my inability to go to the gym after work. DETERMINED to start a punishing regime of body sculpture and lifestyle balancing to turn into a dashing, athletic Price Charming... Well, just to be a bit fitter would be nice.
BUT if we were meant to be Adonis-bodied models, God wouldn't have invented syrup flapjack and chicken and mayo sarnies! And a working chap needs his food, by Jove!
Almost at the end of "Elizabeth the Queen"... Has to be one of the most exciting, enthralling books I've ever read. Hated history at school... Never realised how exciting and passionate it could be. I'd always regarded human nature and thought as a bit primitive pre-1900... I've come to realise how much people living 450 years ago were exactly like us, driven by the same needs and desires, affected by the same ups and downs of life. I'm almost sad to end the book and leave Elizabethan England behind.

Norway's song A for the national Song for Europe final, "Any Way You Want It" by Ingvild Pedersen, is fantastic... Shania Twain meets the Corrs and moves to Oslo... Have my fingers crossed that it wins in March and represents Norway. They have a knack for holding really excellent national finals there. Let's just hope they don't go and pick the wrong song, which happens painfully often in Eurovision finals!
Had a nice evening yesterday, met me old matey Di and had a massive chinwag over cheap but tasty nosh at Merry Hill. Nice to make a bridge with old friends I thought I'd lost - made me appreciate how you mustn't take friends for granted, and never undervalue good company. Thanks Di, if you're reading this! Hope you like the Eurovision CD!
Lordy, am soooo bored at work this morning. :-o

at work again...
Posted Feb 18, 2003
At my desk... nearly phoned in sick today cos I knew it was gonna be boring. Everyone in today.
Poor old Si is in bed shattered after doing a night shift... He's blacked out the bedroom windows with bin liners to pretend it's night! One more night to work and he's got two days off. He's already sworn never to do night shifts again...
Need to pull my finger out with the German and Latvian sites... Am in one of those apathetic kind of moods lately, not getting much done. Have to wake myself up. Anyone got a cattle prod?
Oooh just had a minestrone cupasoup. Yum.

At work... no one here!
Posted Feb 17, 2003
Oooh very strange... am the only one in the office today as boss is ill, and two colleagues are off.
Just did internet search for my name; came up with an old Estonian newspaper article about me learning Estonian last year! Fame at last... Translated it into English and felt really weird reading stuff I said (in English) a whole year ago. Like a time capsule... It's just sitting there on the web, a snapshot of what I was doing in May 2002! The effect is greater because I'd totally forgotten about it.
The whole insecurity thing has passed by me now. Feel very silly for causing so much bother and driving Si a bit wild with frustration. Ooh I'm a munki sometimes. Texted me this morning with tears in his eyes to say how much he loves me.

Iceland and feeling silly
Posted Feb 16, 2003
Just listening to Iceland's entry to Eurovision 2003... picked only last night. It's quite good!
I'm not feeling quite good though, having got very very drunk after big insecure nonsenses this morning with boyfriend, especially silly cos he loves me more than anyfink and he is lovely. Ooh feel daft now.
Ugh... feel grim. Never gonna drink again.
