'New'
Posted Mar 5, 2003
I was just sitting thinking how long can a company keep printing the word 'new' on a product? I've been using the same type of toothpaste for a year now, yet it still claims to be *New*. I consider the top I bought last week to be old, so why the rules change in this case I do not know.

Driving yourself insane with unanswerable questions.
Posted Mar 4, 2003
I was talking to a friend the other day and she was telling me a story about her aunty who, when she was little, sat down and thought about the universe. She was only about eight at the time, and she suddenly thought, What's beyond the universe? Why don't we know? We should know! There must be something! We're used to the fact that everything is something, so whatever is outside of the universe must be something it cannot be nothing. She quite literally drove herself insane with this and her mother found her in tears.
I was thinking about this and how silly she was, when I suddenly found myself in a similar state. I could only speculate on what was 'out there' and as I had no means or intentions of actually trying to find out, there was nothing I could do about it. So I came to the conclusion that it was best not to think about it, and to leave the thinking to someone who knew how to think about it properly.

Drinking - Why do we do it?
Posted Mar 3, 2003
Isn't it funny how you drink, do something embarassing, wake-up, want to immediately catch a plane to australia and have a sex change and then the very next night do the same thing all over again? Surely feeling like an elephant is sat on your head is enough to destroy any urges to reach for that half empty vodka bottle under your bed. Drinking is the only thing that makes me depressed, yet i do it when i'm depressed. Like most things in life, it just doesn't seem to make sense.

Why do we have IT lessons??
Posted Feb 20, 2003
I am currently in an IT lesson. This is the most dull lesson of the week except perhaps for RE which is equally if not more tedious. People of my age today generally know an awful lot more about computers than the people that are teaching us so why we have to have a lesson in it I shall never know. The fact that I am sitting here typing this and no-one has noticed shows just how bothered the teachers really are about teaching it anyway. Take our current project for example, The Company Stationary Project. We have to design our own logo for a fictitious company. Now I have two problems with this. The first is that we are 15 and, for the presant, are not going to be needing to know how to design logos. The second is that should we ever need to do this, we can pay someone to do it for us. That way everyone is happy. Isn't child logic simple?
