Something I hadn't mentioned elsewhere, ... When I'm at work (noon to 3:30 pm'ish UK) I can't access any mail accounts except the one 'there'. So if you have replied, I won't see it for hours yet.

On a related note, I liked the envelope thingie on your PS, even if it doesn't work. So I stole it !!! Adapted it so that it works, and you'll now see it on my PS, rather than the boring sentence I had previously.

Okely-dokely. I tend to lean towards e-mails more. The web-servers at work are soooooo old and easily bogged down, h2g2 is often not an option. One reason that my other incarnation faded out, ... "he" couldn't maintain a good frolic in the word game threads and other silly places.

Oh, and if you don't mind, I'd be pleased to add you to my "Friends" list. We have some friends in common, and you have others that I have seen and would like to know better.

At your leisure, a yay or nay will suffice.

I see that my talent for killing, or seriously maiming a journal or thread is alive and well. If I were the paranoid type, I'd almost think someone from a past time, and their own paranoia, was saying nasty stuff about me.

No worries, ma'am. I just noticed that a half dozen postings I made earlier today, including your journal, lay dormant until someone else came along. And then carry on as if I hadn't been there. At times, my natural paranoia (thanks, Mom !!!) makes me wonder if I am perhaps somehow 'tainted'.

OK, I have thought about this and how I am going to respond to you and I have decided to be honest with you, Nick.

I have no problem with people lurking or listing me, that's fine. Now, I don't know about you, but hootoo for me is a companion while I work - most hours of the day and night most days. It is fun, lighthearted, a place where I meet up with some RL friends and some cyber friends, where I can pretend to know how to write. It is absolutely not a place where I am seeking to further complicate my life.

The minute anything on here start smelling like an obligation, I shut it off or ignore it. *If* I have ignored your posts, it will be either because they did not interest me or because I did not notice them - much of a muchness, really. You will have noticed that you are not on my Friend's List.

So, up to you. Stay if you wish, go if you wish, but please don't pull on my apron strings.
