Dang. This conversation keeps getting buried in the backlog. Sorry for not replying sooner.
The daylilies are just now beginning to bloom. Unfortunately, the beds they're in are still full of weeds. I'm hoping for some time this Saturday to work on them.
My poor hostas took quite a beating in the last hail storm we had. They look pretty bad. And some of my vegetables were damaged almost beyond repair. We've had three major hail storms in the last month. My roof isn't happy, either. It's always something, isn't it?
My summer schedule at the library is in full swing. We do lots of programming during the summer, more than any other time of year. I get home just worn out and don't want to do anything except vegetate.
How are you feeling? It's exciting that your new treatment is working for you.
The photo of the butterfly is gorgeous. I'll try to get a shot of the monarchs for you the next time they show up.

We also had a bad storm at the beginning of last week. I've never seen rain and hail come down with such force, it was quite scarey. My poor little Moosewood took a battering, the hails stones went right through the leaves, making big holes. The storm only lasted about an hour, but the damage will be seen for weeks.
We are now coming to the end of our busy period and i for one am glad its tapering off. Like you i'm fit for nothing by the time i get home, that should improve now things are a bit quieter.
I'm feeling ok for most of the time. I still have some 'off' days close to when the next injection is due, and my neck is still giving me trouble. I go back to the hospital next month, to see how things are progressing. I'm so much improved than before i started the injections, i can't complain.
How is your foot now? Is it fully recovered?

Perhaps the injections will start helping your neck, as well. I hope so. At least you're feeling considerably better, which is wonderful.
My foot is fine then it hurts again. I'm not sure what's going on with it. It is clearly a neurotic foot. It's so odd. It is the side of it that hurts so much. It's almost like a small broken bone or something. But it can't be or it would hurt all the time instead of only part of the time. Weird. It isn't swelling as bad as it ws, so progress is being made there.
Summer has set in here with a vengence. It is in triple digits already. It nomally isn't that hot for another 3 or 4 weeks. It makes it really hard to motivate myself to go outside in it to work. I think my age is starting to catch up with me.

I think extreme weather is hitting everywhere, it's been awfully hot here the last few days and set to break records by mid week. Luckily i only have one day left to work before i start a week and a half of vacation. If nothing else i'll be able to stay inside a cool house during the hottest part of the day.

It has been unseasonably cool here the past few days. And rainy. Mother Nature is having a hard time making up her mind lately, it seems.
Things here are really busy this time of year. I'm doing quite a bit of programming. Plus, I'm beginning a largish project at home that is going to stretch into several months. At least it will keep me off the streets.
My vegetables didn't get planted when they should have this spring, so I am just now getting peppers and tomatoes. I am planning some fall vegetables. Fall gardens do fairly well here. I've always wondered why more people don't plant them. I think it's because they need planted in the hottest part of the summer and people don't have the energy to mess with it all.
I'm switching over to container gardening to cut back on upkeep. I bought some self-cointained planters called Earth Boxes. They are wonderful. They work a lot better than regular containers. I'm so pleased with them that I plan to buy some more of them this fall. The only things actually planted in the ground in future will be my asparagus, fruits and pole beans. Everything else will go into containers.
How are things with you and your garden? I hope you aren't suffering from the heat. Summer can really be miserable.
